Hey all,
Does anyone recall an often shown street segment on Sesame Street with an all female band just outside of Hoopers Store? They played a song using kazoos and washboards and other jug band type instruments. I remember a woman having a puppet-like wooden figure on a stick with hinged...
Hey all,
Does anyone remember the segments featuring Richie Havens on the rooftop of 123? I remember him doing his cover of "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles for one. These must have been from the early 70's.

I haven't seen this segment since around 1982, so my memory is a bit foggy...
the Muppet that doesn't know how to count is a fat blue with brown hair and a horizontally striped shirt (red & white?) and possibly a jacket.
The Northern Calloway muppet was either pink or purple and was...
I haven't seen it in 20 something years, but I believe he was walking around in what I remember as a dark alley. The lamp post sounds familiar as well.

Hey all,
I'm surprised that more people don't remember this sketch. Do any of you tape traders have this clip? I always considered it a classic, as many times as I saw it. Anyone know who did the female voice in the sketch? Does anyone recall how the whole thing goes? I just remember the...
Anyone remember the often aired classroom segment with Same Sound Brown and Farley?
"I start in the front
then I move to the rear
and I say each sound out
loud and clear..."
There's another one I wish I had on tape.

> 2. The song about 'up and down' featuring Herry and Cookie. I like the tune -> it's very uplifting. 'I look up and see the sky, I look down and see the ground, >I look at you and sing a song about up and down!' are the main lines to the >song.
I've only seen the remake of this. I've never...
Okay, here's some more that I've thought of. Can anyone elaborate on them?
1. A series of Sesame Street Sports segments from the mid to late 70's featuring Roosevelt Franklin dressed as a referee.
2. a rooftop musical appearance by Richie Havens (black singer that appeared at the...
I always thought of it as Sesame Street's educational answer to "Mahna Mahna". It's the same type of premise, but with a point this time. Same character too.

Could you be thinking of the "Gimmie 5" song? I believe that was Bob, David, Gordon, and Luis singing it. "Gimmie 1, 2, 3, 4...but if you love me more, gimmie 5!" That was a great bit. I wish someone had that on tape.

I remember seeing a few episodes in the early 80's where the SS cast went to David's grandmother's house for a visit. Anyone else remember these shows?
Frodis
BTW, the actress that played David's grandmother also played Cliff's mother on "The Cosby Show".
