Jerry did indeed perform the Count for this season of Sesame. As we all get older, our voices change and those changes are naturally reflected in a character's performance as well.

Jerry Nelson performed Sam the Robot. He wore the costume and used a synthesizer of some kind for Sam's voice.

Don Music was in the 1989 NBC special "Sesame Street: 20 and Still Counting". It was likely the last time Richard performed Don Music.
