It was mentioned in the book The Story of Jim henson: Creator of the Muppets that, because of Jim Henson's constant traveling, they eventually decided not to live together anymore. I can't remember whether it specifically said if they actually divorced or seperated.
I wonder which episode that is. Of course, in the book, it says that he was given nothing to do at the read-through. The writers might have changed the script to give his characters something to do. It would be weird if there was an episode that didn't even have lines for a one-shot character...
If Frank performed Big Bird, I think he would have given Big Bird a Fozzie-like voice. If Jim performed Snuffy, I think he would have had the gruff voice that most of Jim Henson's non-Kermit/ non-Ernie/ non-Link Hogthrob characters have.
However, I believe that Jim Henson had already decided...
I've been doing some thinking. Frank Oz was originally offered to perform Big Bird, but turned down the offer due to hating performing full-body characters.
If he had accepted the offer, do you think that Jim Henson would have performed Mr. Snuffleupagus? After all, Jim Henson and Frank Oz...
At the Muppet Wiki website, there is a guide to those skits, listed as "Ernie and The Salesman Skits". Of course, I listed the skits that I knew of, many of which have been listed here, and there probably aren't any skits listed there that are not in one of those threads.
Here are some episodes that I think they could have appeared in:
Joel Grey: Comedy Tonight
Florence Henderson: Happy Together
Ben Vereen: Pure Imagination
Vincent Price: almost anywhere
Ethel Merman: There's No Buisness Like Show Buisness
Kaye Ballard: in the orhcestra during the...
It's a good idea for at least untill all five seasons are released. If you want your episodes uncut (Zoot ending excepted), then keep the Time-Life releases that have episodes that were cut on the season sets (so far the Vincent Price episode is the only one that's been cut on a season set and...
It's not always the guest star that makes me not care for their episodes. While I don't care much for the Elton John episode, I do like all of his numbers. I just don't like how Elton John has a number almost every other act. I also don't like the lack of lines for The Electric Mayhem.
For...
There are quite a few first season episodes not included that I think the fans (and not just hardcore fans) would agree would fit in on a "best of" set. Episodes suchg as the oens with Kaye Ballard, Paul Williams, Ruth Buzzi, Valerie Harper, Ethel Merman, Avery Schrieber, Candice Bergen, and...
As far as I know, there are three "Kids Guide to Life" videos. I've read that Big Bird Get's Lost does not have any segments at all, and as stated in my review, Learn To Share has a few classic clips. I don't know if What is Friend? is considered "classic" or not (though I think it was more...
That sounds a bit sad that Telling the Truth doesn't have any clips. Two clips that I would have included (if I was in charge of the video) are the Sesame Street News skit where Kermit interviewed Pinnocchio and the first season sketch where Ernie ate Bert's cake and lied about a monster taking...
Pro's and Con's
Let's list the pro's and con's of the "Best Of" sets and the first season set.
The Best of The Muppet Show:
-Pro's:
*with the exception of ending logos and first season openings, all of the episodes are presented uncut (even the Vincent Price episode)
-Con's:
*most...
The villians from The Muppet Musicians of Bremen are good choices for villians. It is a bit of a shame that none of them ever returned for any Henson production (did they all wear out fast? It would be a bit surprising if both the costume and puppet versions wore out in a short amount of time)...
Well, he is probably dumb enough to expect the audience to like it. It is similar to the kind of acts Gonzo would do in the first season, where Gonzo did more odd scts as opposed to dangerous stunts. With the exception of getting hit by Miss Piggy's karate chops in the Mummenshaz episode, I...
This outline takes place during the fifth season.
Cold Opening/ Lobby
Sherman hemsley tells Pops that he is going to do something that nobody expects him to do tonight, and Pops says that he is also doing something unexpected.... give a bubble bath to the chickens.
Introduction...
No, but there were quite a few Muppet video games made between 2000 and 2004, and I beleive that henson did make a deal with some video game company to make soem Muppet games for gamecube, Playstation, and Game Boy Advance (and possibly other systems) around the time of the 25th anniversary (or...
This outline is for the fourth season.
Cold Opening/ Dressing Room
Fess Parker tries to sell some real estate to some forrest animals.
Introduction
Kermit announces that Fess parker has come out of retirement to appear on The Muppet Show, and introduces him in the opening number...
What do you mean by this?
Anyway, decent outline. I have thought about doing a Louis Armstrong outline myself, though I wasn't sure whetehr he was alive when The Muppet Show was made or not, and I did plan on having him as a season 5 guest, mainly so that he and Lips could do something...
