Three or four nights ago, I had a dream that a preview for this set was shown, on TV or a DVD. The preview featured clips that obviously weren't from the first season. Some of the clips included a shot of Big Bird and some kids on the street, an Oscar the Grouch clip (he was green here), a clip...
Well, The Weird Al Show, Weird Al Yankovic's short-lived 1997 series, will be released on DVD this tuesday, August 15. Who else is excited?
I remember watching the show when it first aired, though I never tapped it. I liked the show. There are quite a few episodes that I missed that sound...
Has anybody ever noticed that although Jim Henson and Frank Oz worked very well together, Bert has rarely appeared with any Jim Henson characters besides Ernie, and Grover rarely appeared with any Jim Henson character besides Kermit?
This is a bit weird. Some of Kermit and Grover's...
I don't really know. All I know is that it was only on TV for one season. I don't know if it was cancled or if the shows producers chose not to make more episodes.
If this set features the first five season premiers, then it would mean that Herbert Birdsfoot, Sam the Robot, and Rodeo Rosie will have made their DVD debuts, and Roosevelt Franklin and Sherlock Hemlock would have their speaking-parts-on-DVD debut.
Of course, if it is first five season...
I think Rowlf standing (or sitting) behind the seats might either be a case of him acting like a dog (sitting on the floor) or him not being able to find an extra seat (though he could have sat in the seat that Kermit eventually sat in, or he could have sat in the chair that Doglion took).
I...
Sesame Workshop (or Sony Wonder) should get organized and put out a press release about the set. Or perhaps release some cover art or reveal whether there will be any special features. Oh, and make a confirmation about whether the set is the first five years or first five episodes (somebody says...
He was in The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Muppets: A Celebration of Thirty Years, and A Muppet Family Christmas, as well as some episodes of The Muppet Show that were made after The Muppet Movie.
Here is a list of celebrities who I would put in an update of the song:
Weird Al Yankovic (perhaps singing parody lyrics)
Adam Sandler
Jim Carrey
Allyson Hannigan
Kelly Clarkson
Wayne Brady
Larry the Cable Guy ("You gotta put down the duckie, you've just gotta Git-IR-Done!")...
Dave Goelz did not perform on Sesame Street back then. The only time that he did perform was in the 24th season.
I wonder if Frank Oz actually performed in that skit. He was directing movies around that time and wasn't available as much as he had been, and I doubt that the producers would...
Actually, Abbot and Costello normally played characters with different names, even in movies where their names are in the title. For example, in Abbot and Costello, Bud Abbot played a character named Slim while Lou Costello played a character named Tubby. I think there were a few exceptions, though.
Actually, Beaker's legs weren't shown in The Mppet Movie. He was standing behind the rainbow (I guess there must have been a stand or something attached to the behind of the rainbow).
I don't think Joe Raposo wrote the opening Swedish Chef music. At the Dance premiered in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, where Joe Raposo wrote all of the music, but the Swedish Chef theme didn't.
The music in the At the Dance sketches was called At the Dance. That's how it is listed in...
I wonder if any of the early anything muppet songs would have been too hard to write for any of the regular characters? I imagine that Five People in My Family wouldn't have worked for any of the regular characters, at least not in the first season. I mean, what would be done, suddenly introduce...
I wodner if John Henson has ever considered performing other characters. After all, it's not like Sweetums is needed for every production, so other characters wouldn't get in the way of Sweetums making appearances. Sweetums isn't as major or well-known as Big Bird or Bear, after all. Then again...
I would like to talk more about this idea. For this, there could be one episode from eahc of the first five seasons, maybe they can be randomly chosen, maybe they can have some significance (I just hope that the first episode is included). Then, there could be an hour-long compilation of just...
One idea that would be good would be to have one episode from each of the first five seasons, and then a newly-created hour compilation of skits from the first five years.
