    What are Kermit's build specs?

As Steve suggested, I don't know there's a one-size-fits all answer. I think really the best thing to do is look at videos/DVDs for reference and experiment.

    kermit the frog

Just a tip, but if anyone needs to scale up/down puppet patterns a quick way to do it is on a photocopier.

    Muppets Auditions Sept 2005+

I've seen shows were they cast puppeteers based on voices rather than puppetry and unless they fluke out and happen to come across a great bunch of puppeteers it's usually a disaster. I have a somewhat limited vocal range myself, but I think for the most part voice is relatively easy, puppetry...

    arm rods -- a distraction?

I think the difference between the Muppet Movies and the Muppet TV shows is that on a movie you shoot single camera, or maybe two cameras and there's a lot of time with each set-up whereas with television it's a smaller budget, faster set-ups and usually three camera so if they get a good take...

    arm rod technique

It's also worth noting that a lot of the time you'll have multiple puppeteers on one puppet if something complex is needed. I'm producing something right now with just one puppet, but sometimes there has to be as many as three people performing to get the puppet to do what he has to.

    arm rods -- a distraction?

I think it's a stylistic choice. If you watch the Muppets and most Muppet-style shows on TV you'll notice they perform the puppets and frame shots in such a way that the rods are barely visible. They'll also use different coloured rods depending on the puppet and scene to make them less...

    Statler & Waldorf on movies.com

Anyone see the new episode yet? Spamela Anderson appears in it. Well, it's the puppet at least. I have no idea who is performing her or if it's supposed to be the Spamela character or just a pig in a bikini.

    Anamatronic mouths?

There's some links to good resources for information on animatronics in my Guide to Puppet Building Resources.

Bear Town: The Open Puppet Movie Project

Thanks for your interest guys! I am moving this weekend so it's a little crazy, but I hope to have the new Bear Town web site with more info up sometime next week. Surfpark - actually, yeah I'd like to paint out all the rods using Cinepaint, which is an open source program that's derived from...

    My First Time

Hi Sara, This just popped in to my head, but have you been to the CBC Museum in Toronto? Not sure if you're dealing with Sesame Park at all in your research, but they have the puppets from the series on display there. They're nicely posed (or were the last time I was there) and make for some...

    marionets mouths

There's an article about how the moving mouths were done for Team America available at http://www.machinedesign.com/asp/viewSelectedArticle.asp?strArticleId=57622&strSite=MDSite&catId=2 Puppetise, if you go to your local library, many (most?) decent books on marionette construction should...

    Thanks for spotting these Chino!

    New puppet on e-bay

Those are really nice replicas Lab Rat. I don't think anyone else has ever attempted a Sweetums! I think the Bunsen is my personal favourite, I kind of like the shape of his head better than the actual puppet.

    1/2 Dome Eyes suppliers?

Thanks for clarifying about Capital Findings, it's been ages since I was there. I think the black oval eyes were bought at Designer Fabric in Parkdale a few years ago. They used to sell a variety of sizes.

    1/2 Dome Eyes suppliers?

Hogg, your best bet for finding plastic spheres in Southern Ontario is probably Lewiscraft or similar big box fabric/craft stores. I also hit up Toys R Us and other toy stores regularly. A place to try might be Capital Findings & Leather on Tycos Drive in Toronto. I can't remember if they sell...

The puppeteer who did the marionettes is supposedly self-taught.

Two Hella Cool Puppet Music Video

It was pointed out that by someone much more knowledgable in hip hop than I that the correct name of the first song is "Hot In Herre". Anyways, it's a big file, but worth the download.

Two Hella Cool Puppet Music Video

Stop whatever you're doing right now and check this out - it's an insanely cool video for a cover of Nelly's "It's (Getting) Hot In Here" http://www.lordofthemarionette.com/videos/HOTINHERRE.mov Also very cool, but not nearly as flashy is the new video for Beth Orton's single "Conceived" which...

    New York Comic-Con

I'm watching this one from the NYCC right now - http://youtube.com/watch?v=tjU8boF3D-4 It's really funny. I could totally see a show built around this kind of "man in the street" stuff with Mayberry. Is that what you're working on?

    Pre-Dyed Antron Fleece

Typically when I've used dying services (which is not often) you have to ship them the fabric. If that's the case here it could get expensive for anybody in the U.S. because you're going to pay a taxes when it goes in to Canada and then again when it comes back to the U.S. You shouldn't have to...
