Hmmm... so how much do you make a year? Got anything cool in your house that I don't have? Maybe I'll stop by sometime and melp myself to your stuff when you're not looking.
How's THAT sound?
Better sound just fine, because that's just what you said.

And it was still illegal then. We aren't talking about food, water or medical care here. We're talking about a desire for things that is directly tied to a sense of egotistical entitlement.
You know, that is EXACTLY what every stalker in history uses as an excuse when they are caught...
The wheel is not a piece of intellectual property. It is one of the basic machines that create all other machines. It is not and cannot be copyrighted as a concept.
Do you have the right to replicate a particular model of Dunlop brand tire? No you do not. The design of that tire is the...
We're looking at this situation in a much larger context now. Not just some guy making replica Muppets, but a much more global discussion.
You've posted what's called the "drug dealer's defense" and it's just as spurious as any other. This argument hinges itself on the idea that, just because...
You need to read the whole of this conversation.
Its been said many times that the owners of certain property rights have a very generous policy of ignoring those who build eplicas as "fan activities"... meaning that they understand that some folks are exercising their skills by making...
Your question is simply answered by this: the law doesn't know what you will and will not do with the replica. Therefore it is unlawful for anybody, even those who have no nefarious intent, to replicate or own an unlicensed replica.
Look at it this way: I'll make it a really black and white...
Wow Toasty!
I'm jealous. I wish I had written THAT!
Very succinct. Lovely.
And exactly what I'd hope for in attitude from the good-hearted folks who hang out here.
You nailed it right on the head. EDUCATION.
Wow... I'm getting verklempt. Honestly.

Well, I'm DEEP into making this puppet now. I'm pretty happy so far.
In order to not chop my own legs off, I'm gonna be a stinker and not reveal what the character is. But I can tell you its a female and she is relatively obscure in the fairy tale genre. She appears mostly in...
But it's all to the benefit of eBay, isn't it? They're taking a "we don't see that" approach simply because if they cracked down on every knock-off product being sold there, they'd lose a significant profit in seller's fees.
The more they ignore, the more money they make. Not that there's...
Hmmm... which means that something ELSE is missing in it's place?
That particular piece is one of my faves. The whole thing is hilariously funny and beautifully timed. The characters are at their peak and rebound off each other perfectly.

The big thing with eBay is that they have absolutely NO fashion of reporting CHRONIC offenders. All you get is the little form that (more than likley) is nothing more than an automated robot to purge people that get reported. There doesn't seem to be any mechanism in place to REALLY ban...
You could have anyone make a suit for your gonzo. I'd suggest that you find a person who makes clothing for large dolls instead of TheFabricator... a doll person will do a sweet sweet job on it and charge you much less.
There are plenty of doll groups on the net. Google (or *new!* BLACKLE)...
There is an element of interpretation of intent.
When you make a replica of a Muppet, you are not creating a "parody".
Webbsters defines PARODY:
1 : a literary or musical work in which the style of an author or work is closely imitated for comic effect or in ridicule
2 : a feeble or...
Actually it's illegal in both cases. But the rights-holders have often chosen to ignore personal building versus building to sell. Larry has NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER under the law to make ANY replica of a Muppet. Unless, of course, he's arranged for limited rights through the Rights Holder to do...
Agreed. And you don't see me tracking down Muppet counterfitters and using my mighty hand of justice to smite them, do you? That's the job of Disney's lawyers and the court system.
And I would never suggest that you should put yourself in danger to do right... that's a decision for you to...
Partially true. But justice tries to not punish people strictly for being ignorant. It may not be their fault that they are ignorant.
But justice DOES try to punish those of criminal intent and WILLFUL ignorance. Often they are one and the same.
