Either of those characters would work great as the woodsman.
Or Sweetums could make a good woodsman.
Or Beauregard.
Hmm... At least in the Disney version, the woodmsan substitutes Snow White's heart with the heart of a pig... I wonder if any jokes regarding this will be put in the...
Unless, of course, he end sup appearing in Muppet King Arthur or any of the Muppet Show Comic Book issues that come before Snow White.
Last summer I had started wondering how the casting would be doen for something like Snow White, which features both a female lead and a female villian. Miss...
I find it interesting that the section on Brian Meehl includes a picture of him performing the right hand of Deena Monster, considering he performed her partner Pearl. Then again, I guess it's possible that Frank Oz might have performed Ernie's right arm, or Richard Hunt could have performed...
After talking earlier about what I've read about Richard being more of a background performer for quite some time, it seems like many other performers became major sooner than Richard apparantly did. I know that Michael Earl and Brian Meehl both joined halfway through season 10, and both had...
I thought I'd start a thread about this sketch, listed as "Bring Your Own Can Night" on the 40th anniversary DVD, but otherwise doesn't appear to have anything to do with the title.
The plot involves Oscar and Bruno going to a place called the "Cha Cha Palace". At the beginning the voices...
Sesame Workshop has added quite a few clips that I haven't found at sesamestreet.org, including:
This Frog
Bayou Alphabet (I think it's listed as "Alphabet at the Swamp" or something like that)
James Earl Jones recites the alphabet
After reading this thread, it hit me: Outside of "The King's Nose", it seems that he hardly even interracted with The Amazing Mumford. He seems like somebody who would enjoy volunteering at a magic show, much like Grover did.
But I think it would be better if Abby interracted with Bert...
I liked the interview. Pam Arciero doesn't get interviewed very often... I wonder if this might have been a first (two firsts in one?).
It was said in the 40th anniversary book that on her first day on the set, they had her perform a female assistant for David, though she didn't say the...
Super Mario Bros. is a franchise with many possibilities for accessories and pack-in figures. Playsets might be unrealistic, and I wonder how possible it would be to have for accessories those floating platforms and blocks and such. If I was in charge of such a collection, I'd have each series...
It's a shame that many of the SMB 2 enemies haven't been brought back for future games. That game had so many great bosses. But then again, I wonder if they'd work well in the regular format of Mario games. That game had picking-up objects be a common feature, but it's not as common in other...
I have volume 1, and it does not have any of the episodes with Legends of Zelda (though the sneak peeks at Legends to Zelda are still included). I know that there was a DVD set of all the Legends of Zelda episodes, shown as stand-alone cartoons but with a few live-action Mario wrap-arounds as a...
I bought Peanuts 1970s Collection Vol. 1, because I bought the 1960s set. And I am glad to finally own a copy of It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (I skipped the single-disc releases.... I almost bought a copy last year, but for some reason it was hard to find, even during the easter season).
I never really thought of Martin Price's secretary as a "sidekick"... I feel like she wasn't aware of his real intentions. But then again, we don't see her long enough... Maybe she was aware, but I'm sure that she was just an honest employee.
Reading the Martin Price article got me thinking...
There's an interview with Grace Randolph at Tough Pigs... She mentions that she'd originally planned to have Tiger Lilly in these stories... I wonder who would have played her (Annie Sue? Spamela?). Interestingly, I never though about that character being included... I wondered if mermaids would...
I think I have mentioned how disapointing the pop-up facts are, and I've seen others mention their disapointment with them at tough pigs as well, and I have been thinking... Wouldn't it have been great if they at least had the pop-up facts provide episode numbers for the clips that came from...
And it's a bit awkward that he spoke when he wasn't even on-screen. If he was a fairly major character it'd be alright, but if people didn't think it was Floyd I wonder if they would have wondered whow as speaking the line.
You say that he's not really like other bears or other people, and mention how he's not like people... But how is he not like other bears (I'll ignore the obvious human traits that most Muppet and cartoon animals have)?
For some reason I keep thinking that somebody mentioned an overused plot involving somebody deciding they would rather be more like one of the other characters... Can't really find it (though I saw a few that I could have mistook the comments for), but it is a bit awkward when first season...
You know, thinking about the credits, it seems like during the early years, they only credited main performers (and Richard Hunt... Not sure if he would have been considered "main" for a background performer), but these days (I think since the early 1990s) they credited background performers as...
