Hey, just wondering if anyone here ever got to see Muppet Babies Live when that was in circulation?
I got to see "Where's Animal" when that was touring. Very cute show, though I wish they'd used the inflatable Nanny I'd heard about and seen briefly on TV.
In fact, I still have my Baby...
Actually, on a side note, I think I've seen much more merchandising with Baby Animal than I have with Baby Rowlf. Baby Animal, along with Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, and Gonzo, seemed to make up the "main 5" of the Muppet Babies after awhile. This trend I've noticed has carried over to the...
I hated Baby Bean. I thought he was unnecessary, and that his character was all wrong. In fact, I could never understand why in the case of Baby Bean and Baby Janice, their voices were deeper than their adult selves. As far as his personality went, I felt he was too much of a smart aleck, and...
Yeah, that's for sure. And I'd have to say, while Baby Scooter is least like his adult counterpart, Baby Miss Piggy is the most like hers.
When Henson died, I think Muppet Babies was the production most severely hit. You could see the changes in the characters and the format of the show...
You know that this also started me thinking on? Baby Scooter. Early on, it was mentioned that Scooter was stuck as the "smart one" since a more realistic Baby Scooter could possibly be translated as the other Babies bullying him. While this could indeed be the case, it started me thinking...
This is a pretty interesting thread!
In regards to Baby Gonzo, I found that there was a change in his personality as the show progressed. Yeah he caused chaos, and took the others' belongings without really thinking, but towards the end of the show, he got pretty uncharacteristically mean in...
My favourite episode is "Once Upon an Eggtimer". Granted a large chunk of it was that it starred Baby Rowlf, but also because Baby Gonzo got some pretty good puns in:
"Hey I know! You lost your piano, and you want us to look and see if it's in your tummy!"
*Gonzo forces Rowlf's mouth open...
Really? Oh cute! Do you have the Annual? Can ya scan 'em in? :D
Muppet Magazine had a spread with Steve Martin babysitting the Babies. I have that issue.
To be honest though, I hated the later posers that they used for the Babies. I liked the first versions better, that looked like...
I THINK that may have been "Twinkle Toe Muppets" where they try teaching each other to dance. *scratches head* I remember Gonzo saying weird stuff like in his attempt to show everyone his dance moves.
Voices and stuff
Well, regarding Piggy's voice work, since the adult Piggy isn't exactly quiet and has a falsetto voice, there's no way to have a Baby version without that voice getting higher. Though I adore Frank Oz's rendition of Baby Piggy. Henson's voice for Baby Rowlf was adorable too...
A friend and I had a pretty interesting discussion yesterday and it got me thinking. Baskerville was initially one of the designs considered for Rowlf, when Rowlf was in the concept stage. Baskerville, though he's skinnier and has a longer snout and glasses, has a red mouth and his ears are...
I would REALLY love to see a replica of Rowlf done. I know I'd get one. Thing is, with as underappreciated as Rowlf's been these days, will they even bother with him?
:sympathy: Hee. I loved Muppet Babies when I was younger. I used to have a Hasbro plush of Baby Rowlf too! (I don't have him anymore, but I have several other ones, including a couple of small plushes that came out a couple of years ago.)
I think my favourite episode was the one where...
Baby Doglion. Awwwwwww.
Though you know, with all these baby versions of characters like Sweetums and Doglion and Uncle Deadly, and Johnny Fiama (and Sal!)...one has to wonder how NANNY would cope with all of this!
