Did most of the star muppets have removable arm rods or were they built with arm rods permanently set in? Was there a Kermit with removable arm rods and one without?
I've asked people this before. All I ever got was "just figure it out as you go along". I hope there actually is some formula to it. I've noticled Puppets' head construction is generally concentrated on more than bodies, but then again I coud be wrong.
Hey Propologist, do you know what these are actually supposed to be sold as? I know Mercury isn't seling them as puppet eyes. Are they some kind of part or something?
For the first few puppets I've made (which were pretty aweful) I glued pig pong ball halves to the puppets foam head. I would like to make something a little more resilient.
What is the proper method of attaching ping pong ball halves to a foam head covered in fur/fleece? What about whole...
Hey. I'm just curious if anyone has asked about this pattern ever since this old thread. I tried making my own pattern to no avail. Maybe if someone has a drawing showing proportion and scale like this one but for a "practicaal hands" puppet?
It is legal to make a replica of anything as long as it isn't a weapon, doesn't contain an illegal substance and isn't being made for resale.
(Although if theres enough deviation/difference from the original design, resale is legal. Don't you just love America's judiciary system?)
I agree with keithallison on the price.
Since the price you currently have set is for the instructions, maybe you could sell just the pattern for people who would like the pattern but don't need the instructions. I'd pay bout $30 for the pattern alone.
Being a broke-as-a-joke college student, I'm scrapped for cash. I do however want to get a hold of a ProjectPuppet pattern because I hear so many great things about it. Although now that I hear it doesn't come with foam anymore I don't know if its worth the loot.
However. My question is, does...
Muppety Puppet?
I'm sure you read this quote by Rick Lyon, but let me bring it in here:
“I am a little weary of hearing puppets designed in the style of the Muppets being dismissed as derivative…no one would dismiss a bunraku style puppet as being derivative. Picasso might have invented...

It doesn't make sense that the honkers honk.
Going out of the way to mic a bike horn in a puppet is a lot harder than
just putting it into the final mix. Especially today where almost every sound
effect on a pre recorded television show is put in later on.
(Notice I said sound effect.)
Putting feathers in fur?
I've seen many puppets with feathers sticking out of their fur. Some of the ebay puppets we've seen have this.
How do you put them thin slices of feather into fur?
I'm curious as to what other "secrets" were mentioned in "Of Muppets and Men".
I own it and I'd just like to know of any other stuff people have seen in the photos in this book.
Also, where do you see barge cement in this book?
Awesome! Man, this is the type of stuff I'm looking for! I hear puppetplanet is filled with this stuff but I dont know how to access it! Is there like a resources page or something?
By the way, in the image http://www.puppet-planet.com/blinkeye1.jpg
it looks like the puppets mouth was...
