I would like a 4th option to vote, neither should be a genre. I agree completely with Drtooth that it isn't a genre. You can have animated comedy, drama, action, etc the same way you can have puppetry in each of those actual genres.

I never have a problem with Amazon. I pre-ordered this (through the Muppet Central link, Philip) along with 2 of the hardcover comic collections to get the free shipping. We'll see when I get all of that though.

They are going to be making a new Kermit. The MR Kermit is just a placeholder to give you an idea and to give more life to the display than a hanger with clothes, a gray Piggy head and a fully prototyped Rizzo.

I actually heard that it was heavy and that was a big factor for him not being able to film a lot consecutively. In addition to all the feathers, the "skin", the head, there is all of the video equipment inside that allows him to see himself on stage. He's 76 years old. Even though he looks...

The Kermit is in fact the MR Kermit with some clothes. They didn't have enough time to tool up and produce a Kermit poser that quickly, but they did manage to make the clothes! I think the Rizzo is probably about right.

I know Rizzo was in TMS but he was hardly popular back then. He rose to fame with MT and the films. The Rizzo on TMS was background and hardly spoke.

Rizzo isn't one of the "classic" Muppets I don't think so we will not revoke your Muppet Fan card just yet PW. Rizzo really rose to fame on Muppets Tonight and the features after MTM. But as of now, he's in everything and is pretty popular (and don't forget SMALL). He's a good starting point...

My guess on the less BB screentime is related to Carroll Spinney. I think he just has less ability to keep wearing that huge heavy Bird puppet. I am wondering if we are seeing him phased out of the limelight a bit to prepare for a full transition to another puppeteer and BB re-emergence as a star.

Looking again I hope they switch to a more matte finish on Rizzo's hands. They're too shiny.

I very much wanted Rizzo to not look that good so I wouldn't have to get him but WOW he is awesome! I can't wait to see their updated Kermit now! And Piggy is off to a good start.
