I don't know if this is true or not*, but recently I saw the beginning of an episode of Dragnet where Joe Friday said that the earliest movies were filmed entirely outdoors, even scenes taking place indoors, because they couldn't get the right lighting indoors.
*I mean I don't know if the...
When I first heard "The Chipmunk Song", I thought one of Alvin's lines was "Me, I want a who, a who!", as if he wanted a who from Whoville. One of my friends would then quote the song and I could more clearly hear him say "Me, I want a hoola hoop" and I mistakenly thought he was being silly...
Why are the instruction books for 3DS games so much shorter (content-wise) than old instruction books? They seem to only give basics, with no sections on characters or levels.
Top ten hardest video game levels:
10. The underwater level from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
9. The level with that dang barrel from Sonic the Hedgehog 3
8. Any platform game level from Virtual Bart
7. The gliding level from Pac-Man 2: The New Adventure
6. The second castle from world 7...
So in The Wizard of Oz, why does the Witch melt when splashed by water? Does any version of the story give an explanation? The movie doesn't even provide any foreshadowing (that I know of).
I just read on Muppet Wiki that Noel MacNeal performed Oscar in this number. I'm a little surprised Carol Spinney wasn't there for the taping (I guess that means he doesn't have home movie footage of that that can be used in I Am Big Bird). The first non-vocal performer we hear that was involved...
I've been thinking about the various pre-Paramount Home Video releases of Peanuts specials. There is a great Peanuts animation guide which mentions video releases but doesn't seem to talk much about the VHS releases from before the Paramount days (though I'v found that the Peanuts Wiki has...
I just watched the whole thing, this time with the volume up all the way so I could hear better.
There's that sequence where they are all wondering who's missing. While I knew it was Big Bird, I just wanted to say that more than one someone is missing: Biff, Sully, Don Music, Forgetful...
I recently found some comic book reprints at a book store. I considered buying one but didn't. But I would have if any of them included the very first comic book story arc.
So does anybody know if there are any reprints of the first Turtles storyarc in print?
If the number was indeed shown for the purposes of the parenting guide, then I guess continuation of it after the guides ended (I've read that they stopped doing the parent guides after season 12, either that or the CTW Archives only has guides up to then) is what TV Tropes would call "the...
This script didn't have the Moopets. I'm not a big fan of those characters. Aside from Miss Poogy none of them were developed well, their names only appear on a poster and dressing room doors (Miss Poogy's name isn't even spoken on-screen). I don't think it was too neccessary for Miss Piggy to...
I have wondered this recently as well. But at least it allows us fans to know what number applies to each episode (except for season seven, but Muppet Wiki has info on every season 7 episode thanks to program guides from the CTW Archives).
I also wonder what the purpose was of only including...
I thought this thread would be a great one to point out this blog I found a few weeks ago: http://www.dougfunniesjournal.blogspot.com/
It includes entries on every episode of the Nickelodeon series and a few of the Disney series.
I've been thinking a bit more about my idea for multiple two-disc anniversary collections. This might sound a bit "out there", but how about four collections: A random selection of clips that mostly hadn't been released on video, a random selection of clips that have been released on video...
This thread suddenly gets me wondering... When's the last time Sesame Street introduced a lot of new characters? In the last decade it seems that the only new recurring characters we've gotten have been Murray (in season 36, and even then it took a few years before he became a main character)...
I have occasionally saw a little of some reality shows, mainly because other people in the house were watching them and I couldn't avoid them. The only reality show that I actually watched, and liked, was Meet the Marks (or was it Meet the Marx?), which seems to be the only reality show that was...
