those shows sound very very familiar but i can't quite remember them.
the shows i remember are those shows like gerbert, scorch, and puzzle place.
ah, those were the goods ole days.
well i've seen alot of these puppets being made with non-removable rod arms and i think that you might get more control over the arm but then the problem is that you can't store them as easy. :smirk:
i really like the idea of clear rubber bands, when i read what ddavisborg wrote i was freaking...
that's pretty darn good puppet ya got there. if that's your first puppet you are incredible, and even if it's 50th it's still really good.
and that head looks like something from arms length. :)
although, there's something a little weird about the arms but i can't quite put my finger on it.
I think (and i know i say this to often) that you should start with an original puppet. It seems to me that you would get more satisfaction from making your own original puppet. But i think that if you were going to make a replica, beaker would be a good start. :D
well i'll admit i didn't do that much research before posting this thread.
but i couldn't find anything like the eyebrows i'm wanting to make, everything else was eyebrows that moved differently then what i wanted.
and also i didn't know you could search like that until just now(hehe) i was...
well i'm trying out the eyebrows i made right now and i'm very pleased wit hhow the ytruned out but i can't seem to come up with a way to make the eyebrows frown.
i can either make them so that they frown or raise, not both.
so i'm not sewing the head together until i'm sure there's no way to...
you know, i've always wondered how they did that.
but here's my question: how the hewey did they make that?!
i mean the more i look at that pick the more it looks like they had it factory made,
do they have a factory for the muppets?
do they use parts of something else to make the blinkers...
buck this site is EXACTLY what i was looking for. like dead on.
i'll have to change the pattern a little since i'm making a foam based puppet but it's still perfect.
you the man buck ;)
oh and good luck on your king puppet iokitek
hey guys, i'm making an old man puppet and i think it's going to turn out pretty cool. anyways i'm wanting to make it so that he doesn't have any eyes, just eyebrows, and i want to make these eyebrows move so that he can show more emotion.
i allready have something that i think will work but...
i think that if you practice you can make any kind of rod arm work pretty well.
in my experience the rubber banded kind are better but that may be because i've used them more then the kind that attach directly to the arm.
so really maybe there is not a best rod arm. :(
this is a pretty good site but i don't really like tha fact that most of the puppets on that site look the same as each other. but i do have a puppet from there and i like it quite a bit. :D
I think that the rods with rubber bands are better for actualy moving around, but then you have this strange stripe running down your puppets wrist and that might be distracting.
I think people should get creative and make their own original puppets. I honestly don't mean to offend anybody but I really don't like it when people make puppets that are supposed to look like an existing character. they always seem to bug me for some reason.
p.s. but that is a pretty...
