Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
With so many of the earliest episodes being out there now, I'd be content if these were the last "new" rare classic content the fans get for the rest of the year. But I will be happy if other rarities pop up as well.
It seems like Dr. Teeth rarely interacts with characters outside of The Electric Mayhem (and even then, he rarely directly interacts with Janice... or Lips). He interacted with Sam the Eagle in the "Mack the Knife" number, and with Beaker in Rock Music with the Muppets... And while both were...
I wonder if maybe Daniel Segren performed Guy in the Brand X segment. I know that he performed Big Bird in a few episodes during the first season, so he would have been performing that season. But there aren't many known voices by Daniel Segren (many fans say that he performed Snarl in The Great...
Here's Guy Smiley's first appearance...
It's interesting. I think Caroll Spinney performs Guy in this one. It barely sounds like any Spinney voice I know of, but at times in the sketch he sort of talks like the farmer Caroll performed in The Magic Apple segment. The voice kind of has a...
I guess there's just one more of these episodes to get the full guide treatment at Muppet Wiki (somebody on the MW forum said that they didn't actually get episode 12).
Looking at the guides, it seems odd that Jennie doesn't appear more (even though I was aware that the first episode is the...
One or two of the eagles lines sounds like a little like a Jim Henson voice, but the eagle also has lines that clearly sound like whoever was doing the majority of voices in this.
The CTW Archives "first season show content" has five letter claymation segments listed. The E segment is listed...
Early on in The Simpsons episode "Brother from Another Series", after Reverend Lovejoy had redeemed Sideshow Bob, Lovejoy mentions that it's hard to believe that Bob is the same criminal who had run for mayor. Sideshow Bob had done a number of other crimes - including robbery and framing Krusty...
Some rare clips from these episodes have surfaced on YouTube.
Here's Brotherhood of Man:
And one I've been wanting to see for years, a claymation short on the letter E, which I'm sure Jim Henson worked on though his voice isn't heard. And after watching this, no wonder the first season show...
In the past few days when full scene rundowns for the first few episodes were added to Muppet Wiki, I've noticed something that I don't think had been pointed out about the first season: It was common for the show to have a segment with one of the adults reading an existing children's book. As...
Previously "A Little Bit at the Beginning" was listed as first appearing in the third episode, but on that page it mentions a film segment with portions that were later edited into the song, and no mention of the song there. I guess a change is in order... "A Little Bit at the Beginning" is...
So is the recent 3DS video game Disney Magical World a game aimed at girls or both genders? I can't really tell from looking at the packaging, and have had trouble determining it when I look up info on the game.
It's as if learning more about these early episodes is a 45th anniversary gift for the show and fans. I don't know when that fan obtained these episodes, but I didn't hear about it until after the anniversary week. Wouldn't it be great if these episodes had become available a little sooner so...
I recently read on TV Tropes that the first few episodes of Dinosaurs originally aired with a laugh track, before it was dropped and removed from reruns, home video releases, and Netflix. Anybody know whether this is true? Anybody have copies of the versions with laugh tracks?
Well, for years somebody (was it more than just one fan?) had speculated that the season one credits crawl included in Old School Volume 1 was taken from the fifth episode. Turns out whoever thought that was correct.
And so now it makes sense why Old School Volume 1 doesn't show the sponsors...
I thought that was normally the case with live shows after it had become common for shows to be saved (even for shows that normally weren't rebroadcast).
EDIT: Well I looked at the Red Book article in question and it said that it was a "live-to-tape" broadcast meaning it aired as it was being...
I've read in a post on Jim Henson's Red Book site that the Muppets 1971 appearance on The Dick Cavette Show was broadcast "live as it was taped". I assume that's the case for all episodes of The Dick Cavette Show, but what exactly does "live as it was taped" mean? Does it just mean that it was...
