You know, honestly? I think that the best approach to this is a straight shot. I say we give it all we've got...which is to say...
We write a letter saying....Look, this is who we are and we have this idea. It is in its fledgeling stage but knowing what resources are available to us, helps us to...
I wonder if the Arts Council would want a hand in this? It's possible. I was perusing the performing arts section there. We've got to scope Greenville out and see who our main targets are. Agreed that City council is good but these others are not to be skipped either.
WOOHOO! That's the spirit, Borples! Thatta girl! Don't worry. All of us mouthy people will back ya up and give you plenty of food for thought, wont we guys?!

Here's a website for the City of Greenville. A little digging around on here might turn up some good directions for us.
LOL Yeah yeah, you're right. Okaaaay! Let's get to work. Let's sing about it!
haha JK
Specifically...um...to whom is this letter being addressed? Multiple parties? So in that case there should be multiple drafts? Obviously you aren't going to send one generic letter to everyone. You can...
AGREED! I actually do like Team though because it takes away any airs and kind of fits in more with the spirit of the whole thing anyway. We're one crazy family and we work as a team to see this through.
I kind of liked the idea someone had earlier about jotting down all of our ideas for what should actually be in the letter and then piecing it together. Then someone with finely honed writing skills *coughscoughsBorplesvolunteeredcoughcough* can take up the charge.
HensonCon Planning Team! *lol* TEAM HENSON!
I'm making T-shirts immediately. They can have a BIG H in the center like Superman...only infinitely cooler
.....Well, Pinky is. She's the artsy one.
LoL
I know. It's easy for me to say "NO! WRONG!" And then have nothing to offer in exchange, isn't it? I'm thinking, don't get me wrong. I'm thinking.
All I know is that if you give ourselves a title it is going to make us seem self important. We can't afford that. It's got to be simple, not a...
How about something that doesn't make us sound like overweight, balding men in sweater vests, tweed suits, smoking curved pipes over a glass of warmed port?
Haha! No offense, because you're obviously on a roll here.
Well I like everything I've read here except for the part where we would be calling ourselves the "Jim Henson Convention Exploratory committee." Not only does that make us seem pretentious but it's also kind of a mouthful. The last thing we want is to send something that makes us look like...
Ooo! HensonCon! That really rolls off the tongue. I like it! And you know, you can officially call it that for now....and then on buttons or banners you can use shorthand 'HenCon' to give it the right snap.
For now, that could work as our 'Cloverfield' if you know what I mean. A working name.
