Today I got the Elmo Explores DVD.
I don't know whether people were wondering or if it was just me, but the three classic Elmo's World episodes selected as bonus features are the original edits as opposed to five-minute cropped-to-widescreen edits (I don't really know off-hand if they made...
I wonder where they got their info about some of these, like Elmo originally going to have a bigger part or John Landis being offered to direct.
If Elmo was given his bigger part, it would have given Richard Hunt a bigger role in the movie.
What insert scripts was he called "AM Elmo" in? Is the name used in segments where he doesn't talk and it wouldn't really matter who was used (like "Me Lost Me Cookie in the Disco", "Grover Sells Newspapers", "Kermit News: First Day of School", etc.)? I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't named...
I enjoyed this.
So Elmo was often called "AM Elmo" in scripts for insert segments? Did they do that with any other characters with no distinct personality (like "AM Maurice" or "AM Harvey")? I feel this should go in the main Elmo page on the wiki.
So is that one Elmo appearance from season...
So great to see the Kermit sketch, even if I can't hear the original English. I was a little confused by the description saying he repeats what he did with the hats after being asked what a reporter does, but from the looks of it, it looks like Kermit was going back and forth acting like himself...
Which gets me thinking, in The Street We Live On, we see Elmo learn about Mr. Hooper, but is anybody familiar with the clip shown (I don't really know what I can say about the clip that's specific enough to stand out)? I wonder if that clip came before or after Elmo was introduced.
I guess the only way we'd truly know (as opposed to maybe being a mistake) would be if we could find info on taping dates (I wouldn't be surprised if Sesame Workshop still had a copy of every insert with either an image or a shot of the slate board).
Though it is interesting when it comes to...
Maybe this would be good as its own thread, but I've seen pages from Sesame Street scripts and know that episode scripts include listings of all inserts that appear. Makes me wonder if the writers have/had a big guide to the inserts to determine what to include. I know the CTW Archives has the...
Actually, they did show some pre-Kevin Clash Elmo after the recast. I know there's a late-1980s episode that contains "Me, Claudias", unaltered. Don't know of any other examples, though I'm guessing most of Meehl and Hunt's Elmo performances were in street scenes that weren't inserts.
Also...
And yet Warner Bros. still won't allow certain racial cartoons like the censored eleven (which came very close to getting a DVD release back in 2010) or certain Japanese-themed WWII cartoons (which, outside of some Private Snafu shorts and Any Bonds Today?, are the only WWII-themed cartoons that...
It seems like Noggin didn't edit Muppet inserts from Sesame Street Unpaved, but quite a few street scenes, that were part of the plot and not aired in other episodes that Noggin aired, were cut. Noggin needed to cut a few minutes from each episode, but I would think they'd cut material that...

Both episodes containing "Richard Hunt as Elmo" clips that appear in Being Elmo have guides at Muppet Wiki now, and the other one shares an episode number with this very year - 2018.
Looking at one Muppet Wiki user's main page, I saw that Richard Hunt performed Elmo as late as episode 2018. It's great to know that in 2018. I kinda hope episode 2018 gets a page this year just because it matches the year (and kinda want episode 2019 to be held off on a page until next...
Pretty much all the songs on the first album debuted in the first season but were rerecorded for the album. In many cases, they are sung by the same characters/performers as on the show, but there's also just as many that were sung by different characters than on the show (like having Bert join...
Thanks to info from trusted sources, I recently found at Muppet Wiki that at least three of the segments listed as being from season 11 in 40 Years of Sunny Days (Kermit News: Foot Snuggies, Me Lost Me Cookie at the Disco, and Monsterpiece Theater: Me, Claudias) actually premiered in season 12...
I was excited to see two of the earliest known uses of Elmo's name, and was surprised that he was referred to by name in season 11*.
The Muppet Wiki page actually notes Brian Meehl as Elmo's performer in the guide (in the scene rundown), I wonder if the script actually notes the performer (I...
I recently saw details that this and "Before and After" involve "Silly Song Time". Makes me wonder if there were any more "Silly Song Time" segments (I've been looking at song titles in the CTW Archives First Season Show Content files to determine if any of them might be silly). Of course when...
