Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

It is widely sourced that it was Follow That Bird, which was filmed before production on season 16 began (and released later). episode 1966 had a Telly sketch, but I think it premiered earlier (I should look at the guide and see if it has a “first/eka” by it, can’t remember off-hand).

Now what's going on with YouTube?

People complain about "made for kids" videos not being allowed to have comments. But I don't see it as that big a deal. I feel like YouTube comments are more for people who upload their own content. Feels like comments are good for letting us know what parts are popular with the...

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Yeah. But at least it would have aired in an episode. Hmm, I wonder if those who put that clip online are labeling it “for kids” or “not for kids”....

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Is it really that big a deal if we can comment on clips on the YouTube links? After all, if a fan uploads it, the fan isn’t the source of the creation and wasn’t involved, so The comments aren’t really helping the uploader improve or tell them what they liked/disliked. If it’s officially...

Early (pre-Kevin Clash) Elmo appearances (Brian Muehl and Richard Hunt)

Looking at the sandbox page for early Elmo transitions again, I see I was wrong about there being only four episodes where Richard performed Elmo, as two more performances first aired after Kevin Clash took over (but were taped before). Something I thought about. The listing of early Elmo...

Early (pre-Kevin Clash) Elmo appearances (Brian Muehl and Richard Hunt)

I’m only seeing Kevin’s Elmo as being like Brian’s (and I can’t decide if that’s odd - Richard had been performing him, though only in four episodes, but Kevin wasn’t a regular performer during Brian’s time). But Muppet Wiki posted one clip of Brian as Elmo, while all we’ve seen of Richard as...

Sesame Street Episode 847 with Margaret Hamilton

I bet that’s what scared the kids.

Early (pre-Kevin Clash) Elmo appearances (Brian Muehl and Richard Hunt)

Looking at the sandbox page on early Elmo performer transitions, it turns out that Richard Hunt performed Elmo in four episodes (not counting if he happened to perform Elmo in any inserts, whether before or after officially taking on the role).

Early (pre-Kevin Clash) Elmo appearances (Brian Muehl and Richard Hunt)

Well, Kevin Clash's first performance as Elmo has been confirmed and is on Twitter:

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street 50 Years and Counting DVD Set

Recently I started thinking it would have been cool if there’d have been a “from the vault” section, whether as part of the main program or as a bonus feature. As a bonus feature, those Baker outtakes would have fit in, but it also could have included unaired segments (depending on if they all...

    Little things we've noticed

Probably wasn't a conscious decision, but last night I realized that it was rare for recurring characters performed by Frank Oz and Richard Hunt to appear together. Aside from them both performing members of the Twiddlebugs family, none of their characters were regular/semi-regular pairings. Of...

Looking for a clip from Sesame Street.....

Actually, it was Biff who did that.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

there is at least one performance that survives. It is weird that it seems like there were at least three different renditions of the song (and within a short period of time of each other), as opposed to them all being the same segment. It is interesting, years ago I thought it was rare for...

    The "You know what?" thread

In Aladdin, after Genie is free, he asks Aladdin to wish for something to see if he’s truly free. However, Aladdin had already used up all three wishes (unless Genie had decided not to count Aladdin’s wish to be saved from drowning). So regardless of whether Genie was free, he wouldn’t have had...

What song can you not get out of your head?

9 to 5 (Morning Train) I’ve been randomly singing parts of the song (and at times making up my own lyrics) but for some reason people were just acting like noting was happening when I did.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

I don’t think Sesame Workshop has recovered any of the lost episodes. Screenshots that have been added since the wiki discovered episodes are lost come from other sources (such as early episodes of Sesamstrasse, the first three seasons included dubbed street scenes from the domestic show).

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street 50 Years and Counting DVD Set

I recently got a DVD copy of this. The picture frame it comes with is neat. It’s illustrated, with many characters, don’t think it has anybody who’s not in the discs content. this has been available for about three months and yet Muppet Wiki still doesn’t have a picture of the frame.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

Wow, those two episodes look so awesome. I wish those had been chosen for the 50th anniversary release. Here’s hoping someday there’ll be a similar Cookie Monster release with old school street stories, those would make good conclusions. Cookie Monster watching and eating Hooper’s Store is one...
