Yeah, I honestly think they're trying to go for characters who are/were more well-known, and as we've discussed, Mike didn't really serve a huge purpose for being on the show.

And you have my full respect for doing that. It's probably due to the unattractive revamps the website went through.

And @mbmfrog remember: PBS has a channel that shows nothing but kids programming 24/7. I'm not sure if the special will air on there, or on the main channel, but if it airs on the former, I have no doubt it will be advertised like crazy, believe you me.

Yeah, I suppose running gag is slightly extreme. But in general, I'm just not super crazy for Mike.

Mike wasn't as well-known, so I can't imagine him coming back, even if it is for a special occasion...besides, from what I've seen of him, I don't think there was anything unique about him character wise...and his voice really annoys him...and as far as the running gag of him always being hungry...

I just found a page of the script on the Wiki. As far as appearances go, they're seriously having a field day and putting in a HUGE dent in this special. Let's hope we learn about the airdate really soon- I wanna mark it on my calendar as soon as it's confirmed! :fanatic:
