    Muppets Tonight: 25 Years Later

Yeah. It is hard to really develop new characters when the Muppets don’t have a regular series (or a new movie every few years). The Jim Henson Company probably could do new Muppet shows and focus more on new characters, while Disney would focus on a brand and focus more on those known as...

    Muppets Tonight: 25 Years Later

I have also started to wonder if, ignoring Frank Oz's limited availability, it would have been better if Muppets Tonight mainly focused on a fairly small core group of Muppets, if most of it was Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Rizzo, Bunsen and Beaker, Statler and Waldorf as much as they...

    Muppets Tonight: 25 Years Later

Maybe. And I’ve seen at least one interview with one of the Henson people saying that TMS was introducing new characters all the time (well, not so much in the last two seasons). But there is a big difference. Until The Muppet Show premiered, there wasn’t really a core group of Muppets. Sesame...

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Yeah, even the episodes that had been in fan collections before fans started getting rare episodes mysteriously have not made their way to YouTube, as far as I can tell. I have searched for the episode where Gordon gets a good citizens award a few times.

    The Bob Newhart Thread

A few months ago I finally got a copy of the Bob DVD set (and around that time I was reading a few articles reviewing the show, and I added a ton of info on the show to TV Tropes). It is a great show. Previously I had only seen a few episodes on TV Land. I was thinking that the first season...

    Any Ernst Fans?

I saw that today is Jim Barney’s birthday. anyway, a few more things to say about Ernest Goes to Camp… The opening credits sequence is rather basic compared to the other theatrical films (which had illustrations, visual effects, and other forms of cool-ness), but in watching the movie the...

    Any Ernst Fans?

Last night I watched Ernest Goes to Camp for the first time in years, and I have some observations. The poster and video cover seems to have a lot of the main cast (including some relatively minor characters, like Stennis and the foreman), but there's also a few notable characters not on the...

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

One thing I find a little odd is how many of the Number of the Day segments are presented in Cool Counting Collection. I feel like the reveal of the number is supposed to keep people guessing. But some Number of the Day segments in the video come after segments on the number, as opposed to...

    TV Tropes

Last night I was editing things in the page for the show Newhart, and in the edit format, it says not to list tropes without explaining examples (which I was told when I signed up, though I often do see it on pages), and also with tropes not to just list a character or episode title or something...

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

I finished watching it and filled the sketch rundown on the wiki. In a way, it’s disappointing, but at the same time, there are segments that I enjoyed a bit. It doesn’t really have anything I would have included if I had compiled the segments, and I especially wouldn’t have been too aware of...

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

I started listing segments as I watched it, but had to stop watching for a bit. I'll add the rest later unless somebody beats me to it, still got to add in segments for numbers 11-20. For those hoping there would be classic early segments, so far the oldest segment I have found is "Cloud...

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

I went to one store and didn't see a copy, but I rented a digital copy, watching it now. I did a quick skim through and didn't notice anything too "must have".

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Some things about the "Oscar vs. recycling" episode: So it's recycling just to give somebody a hand me down or an item that one is no longer using but isn't really being altered? Susan gives Maria Miles' old stroller for Gabbi and they call it recycling, but it's not being altered or used beyond...

    Any Ernst Fans?

Here's something I did not know existed: A read-along of Ernest Goes to Camp, read by Ernest himself. Ernest Goes To Camp 1987 Read Along Cassette - YouTube Jim Varney is obviously the only actor playing his character from the film. Some of the voices make the characters sound like a...

    Little things we've noticed

in most YouTube videos I have made, I sit the camera down on something, and while there’s usually not a camera person, in quite a few instances I see that the camera was involuntarily moving (even if I place it on a tripod or flat enough surface). I guess it might be how it’s built or placed.

    Little things we've noticed

At the end of Follow That Bird, we see a few Muppets excited about Big Bird going home, they look out the windows and act excited. And most of those characters are Anything Muppets or monsters. We see Prairie Dawn, a boy who kind of looks like Roosevelt Franklin (and the wiki does list him as...

Why aren't Oscar and Telly ever on anymore?

Yeah, I didn’t realize Elmo spoke in that scene until somebody brought it up on the forum (and that Richard Hunt performed him). Several characters are talking, and he’s shaking his head in a way that makes it look like he’s not talking. Sometime recently, somebody on Facebook said they...

Muppet Show skit on Saturday Night Live on May 15, 2021

Watching the beginning again, I now see that the third Disney Plus program is a joke, but I also noticed before that, the audience starts chuckling at Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I checked to make sure that's a real show and not a joke (and if it was a joke, I'm not familiar with those...

    The "You know what?" thread

Some more about Taxi and Latka’s split personality: in the episode Mr. Personalities, it’s established that Latka has multiple personalities beyond himself and Vic Ferrari. And I think there’s another episode where he appears as Vic, and Elaine says something like “I don’t mind Latka’s split...
