....and then, and then the head of German broadcasting, who happens to be a hard-nosed son of a gun with a grudge against amphibians, has Kermit arrested until such time as he can pay an exorbitant fine--one million euros! The Muppets don't have that kind of money because they have a LOT of...
If I may jump into the Fraggle world, I have to cast a vote for Ma and Pa Gorg. They may not be perfect....okay, they're really, really not perfect. But how sweet is it that they've been married for five hundred and thirteen years and are still completely nutty about each other?
Would you happen to have audio of the Fraggles' part? If so, I would love, love, love to hear it! Actually, I'd love to see/hear anything you have. Those of us who weren't there are kind of desperate, you understand. :-)
The world is full of Dave Goelzes. Apparently, he looks like everybody's dad/grandpa. I've done lots of double takes at strangers who look weirdly like him. I think if I ever did see him walking down the street, I'd never believe it was actually him and not a look-alike.
The first one that comes to mind is "Let Me Be Your Song." It makes my feet itch (um, not literally). It makes me want to wander. It makes me want to be able to sing (can't). I guess it makes me want to be a minstrel. And I want that magic pipe, too!
I feel like a Fraggle movie would stand one chance in a hundred of living up to the greatness of the show. After so much time, and with a whole different studio in charge, there are just too many factors. Would they even use puppets? If they did, would they try to get the original performers...
I've just watched The River of Life and Gone But Not Forgotten for the first time over the past couple of days. And I am so amazed and awed at the gravitas and sheer emotion in those episodes. Those episodes of a kids' show. Those episodes of a kids' show with puppets. As a lifelong Muppet...
Oh thank you, thank you, thank you for finding and posting that! They look and sound fabulous. :coy::excited: Yay for Wembley! I wonder if they rebuilt him especially for this concert? Would they do that?
What a great find! That made my morning. Love the balcony view, and getting to see Steve, Dave, and the others in action.
I'm feeling so teased about the Fraggle part. I've seen one bit of vid with no sound, and now this with sound, but just wee little snippets and you can only really hear...
That was fun! Very good publicity for Stuffed and Unstrung, too. I can tell, because now if they came near me and I heard about it, I would definitely go. :-) Nice to see Brian Henson. Hearing him speak always makes me smile.
It was sort of funny watching this with a Muppet fan bias. Here...
I couldn't pick an all-time favorite, but my favorite right now is Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water. The songs are fun, the dialogue is snappy, Doc and Sprocket's part is funny, the Fraggles discover caffeine, and Wembley is heroic. What's not to love? :coy:
Well, now that I'm done reading through and liking all of the first hand accounts... :) THANK you, everyone, for giving us the details! It sounds like the most marvelously muppety time imaginable. The few video clips available have filled me with glee.
They're everywhere! Yaaaaaaay! :)
Oh my goodness. Did Steve have to spend an entire three-hour ballgame sitting under the stadium seats? Yikes.
Where's the 20 minute video, please? I'm not seeing it.
Wembley. It's WEMBLEY. There's a Wembley in the world again! The only bad thing is that if there is Matt then there can't be Boober. Can't have everything, I guess.
And Statler and Waldorf are slated to heckle. It is almost physically hurting me that I can't be there for this. Surely, in this...
I love the beginning of Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water, all of it. It goes right into "Pukka Pukka Squeetily Boink," which is just a wonderfully funny, happy song, and includes Wembley sidling up to Red while singing "I believe in love," and her making her "Uch" face. After that, everyone's...
Ooh, fun! It was either The Muppets or the Fraggle Rock episode River of Life. Not sure which.
Or...wait, I just watched the OK Go! Muppet video. Does that count?
