Last time I worked in Japan I recall a Muppet-Stuff like store there devoted to Sesame. Does anyone else know anything about this?
In fact, I do. It was called Sesame Street Workshop. Last time I went to one was in Kobe, and it was great. Tons of stuff you don't normally see in the US---well...
I remember seeing this on NHK after an episode of SS ended, and they had some segment called "Sunny Day Club" where fans send in drawings of the characters and there's a Japanese lady's voiceover and occasionally they'd show short clips from episodes. Anyway, here's the clip I am wondering...

They have Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, The Count, Bert, and Ernie. These can be found in those coin slot machines(similar to the ones you see at stores like Walmart and Target) They're made by Yujin/Sanrio.
While we're on this topic, there's one thing I want to let you know: Sanrio(Japan)now has the rights to Sesame Street merchandising(over there that is). I was looking at a few websites and found pictures of some of their stuff. Especially the ones in the 35th anniversary art style, which I truly...
I have also noticed this as well. Think about Terry Gilliam of the Monty Python troupe-he's one of the six main guys, but you wouldn't see him as much.
Now this brings us to the Sesame Street characters. Consider the merchandise, and character groupings anywhere(websites, number of stuff...

What do you mean?
Well recently France got a new co-production of SS entitled "5 Rue Sesame".
Its true.. there where 2 versions.. They started with the dubbed version but because it was too expensive and no one watched it...
French Sesame Street
Elmo, Narf, and the green female monster(not Phoebe, but the one with yellow pigtails---she was seen with Zoe in one of the Season 36 episodes) are on France's "5 Rue Sesame"
They also have a penguin on there, with a blue beak
Okay, I'll try...
