Yeah Jodie was the medium u/s in the orignal prod. of LBF, and in both productions of LPSchool. The girl in the wheelchair was Francis. The small understudy character in the original prod. of 123 alternated the Francis and Prairie Dawn costumes throughout the show. Grover was the medium u/s...
i know! jodie's soo cute! LOL! yeah they use purple and orange as the tall and medium this year. have you watched the ss t.v. show lately? the new character, murray, seems to be getting very popular. it wouldn't surprise me if he was the tall or medium understudy next year... or maybe he'll...
yeah... no ramp :-/ i dunno how i feel about it. but they wanted to devide the show into 3 stages: stage right being :wisdom:'s garden and stage left being :grouchy:'s garden and the main stage being... well the main stage where most of the action takes place. i suppose including the ramp too...
Awww. You're welcome SSL Fan. The whole one performer playing two characters thing is done in order to condence the show from the arena version to the theater version. Prairie Dawn was an easy character to cut from that show seeing as how she didn't move the story along and was not that...
I agree! I wanted them to put photos in so bad, but now I miss the illustrations. They changed it, because parents thought if they paid 7 dollars for a show program, they want pics from the show, not just a sesame street story book like they could get in any store. And plus, every other live...
yeah, they never remounted this show because it was too sad. kids were actually crying in the audience every time Mr. Meanie mentioned tearing down Sesame Street.
Yeah it's wierd. The west coast and east coast arena tours actually play some big theaters. One of them being the Fox Theater in Detroit on the East Coast arena tour. All the characters are in the show, but lots of position and blocking is changed when they play these cities. And sometimes...
Yeah, the ramp and maxi stage was a lot smaller back then. For the 20th anniversary show, "Big Bird's Sunny Day Camp Out" they decided to make the ramp and maxi bigger to bring all the characters closer to the audience. the bigger design works a lot better for that purpose. i love it.
From what I heard, it's gonna be covered in flowers and plant life, very "flower power-esque". Sounds a little disturbing, but I'm sure the folks at VEE will pull it off beautifully. I miss the old stage design too. The stage for Let's Play School and Sleeping Birdie were my favorite!
Funny, I used to do my own re-enactments too. LOL! The reason why those character disappeared is because the Big Bird and Oscar performers play the fire-hydrants and the Grover performer also plays Baby Bear. And yes, Amanda is the other purple girl, who looks a little like Roxy.
Funny, I wrote a full Sleeping Birdie synopsis in another thread like a month ago. I know Camille Bonora was the voice of Tee Hee in Big Bird and the ABC's, but it was a different voice actress in Sleeping Birdie. I forget who it was though :( I also have all the programs at my parents house...
Yeah Amanda was the small understudy in the original. Zoe was in the remount and Roxy is now the small understudy. Yes back then the Orange Honker was the medium understudy, that's why there were two. The Police number was always after the cowboy scene and the Forest Ranger number is still in...
