I've been observing some similarities between those two shows, and here's what I've noticed:
*Around the mid 60s Fred Silverman(CBS chairman) wanted a cartoon that would be fit for kids, unlike most of what was on at that time. Same thing Joan Ganz Cooney and the CTW people were doing with...

THAMES logo
*Two farmers(Jim and Richard) are behind a fence...watching sheep doing things.
ANIMATED INTRO/OPENING THEME
(the "crazy" opener)
V.O: Germites and Lizzards, it's The Muppet Show! Starring...Jim Jembson's Shnuppets!
*Musical number w/ Kermit, Country Trio and...
Has anyone ever noticed that the only person Lefty ever tries to sell something to is Ernie? How come not any other characters like Grover, Guy Smiley, or Bert? I do however remember one part in the Sesame Street dictionary where they had him with Oscar.
This would be around the second season.
*COLD OPENING:
Scooter: Benny Hill, fifteen seconds to curtain, Benny Hill
(cuts to Benny on the ceiling)
Benny: Oh that’s just great. Now I can’t get there because I’m stuck on this ceiling.
(Scooter makes Benny’s famous “smirk” look on his...
As I said a few months earlier, this is what TMS would have been like if it had started earlier and was picked up by another station in the UK.
Here's an example of what a typical episode would be like:
*THAMES Television logo
*Restaurant: Whatnot complains that there is a fly in his...
Here's something that'll make you go nuts:

It's an image gallery for the old episodes(70s) of "Sesamstrasse"(which by the way back then was actually the original American show translated into German...until 1977)

Okay, so I couldn't think of anything else to talk about, so I thought we have this to discuss/think about:
Sesame Street: A show us Muppet/Henson fans know and love, alongside TMS, Fraggle Rock and so on...but we've heard many times that it was a production of CTW, and that Jim and his team...

...there's also a little blurb on there about "4-D film attractions". I wonder if this means that the 4d show from Universal Studios Japan(which was, like all SS stuff made in the US, but never aired there yet) will...
As requested by someone in the "Another Muppet Reference on Family Guy" thread, here it is, as he suggested...
We all know that Family Guy has featured many Muppet/Sesame references and "parodied" incarnations of well-known characters. So far the characters who have appeared are Kermit, Bert...
I read about this on Muppet Wiki. The name of it is "MUPPET TV" and in case if you're wondering, no they do not have their own Muppet characters there like the international Sesame Street shows, but they use the originals(Kermit Piggy, etc)
I saw it at the near end of a documentary of the Henson statue at some university at You Tube. It had Jim in some sort of "futuristic" dance room wearing(dont know about this, but it's like the type of eyewear seen on Star Trek I think) and wearing the Kermit feet. What show/appearance was this...
I was just peruzing You Tube and I found a bit of a surprise for all you guys:

For those who don't know, this is the Spanish version of Sesame Street.
Just thought I share it with everyone here.
What if TMS happened earlier than it did? Say 1972 or the sixties(when Jim had the concept for it)
Would characters like Fozzie and Piggy still be in it? And what if it was picked up by the American networks(who have turned them down because they thought of them as "kiddie entertainment") and...
Nowadays when I listen to it, it's been having interuptions(it starts, then stops then starts and so on). It says that you can sign up to hear it w/o interuptions. I'm thinking about signing up, but is it free?
The ones I know of are:
*Do De Rubber Duck
*I'm Sad Because I'm Happy
*Game show with Guy Smiley(he was there with some old lady...something about an old cloth?)
Also, there was an insert from 1969 that had him, along with Bert, Cookie, the purple monster from the "Monster Father and...
