Since Christmas is not so terribly so far away, I was wondering what would be the possibility of The Christmas Toy and Emmet Otter being released in unedited form this year or within the next few years.
Apparently, Disney owns the rights to A Muppet Family Christmas. In therory, since the muppet show has been released unedited, they could attain musice rights for this specail too. In pracitcality, the special will probably not see an offical release for a while, since disney is bad on releasing...
I was just wondering, does Henson or Disney own the rights to The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson?
If Henson has the rights to it, they could ideally release it this year for the 20th anniversary of Jim's Death.
If Disney owns it, I could very well see it being a bonus on the release of muppet...
I didn't expect this special/documentary to be this hard to find. I went to two different walmarts and didn't find it at either of them. I'm going to hit the bigger stores later today so possibly I can find it at one of those stores. If not, I suppose I'll have to order it.
Well, then we don't have a lot more specials with cross overs that henson could release do we.
The only thing then that I could think of them (henson) releasing, would be unedited versions of the chirstmas toy and emmett otter.
I guess i really shouldn't complain about a release of MFC...
With the recent releases of rare muppet specials from the Henson company, it leads me to wonder what the company will release next.
As of now, we have a halloween themed fraggle dvd coming in september. I was just wondering what other releases do you guys think are on the way. Myabe since...
YAY! It finally has a release date!
Being a life-long muppet fan, I can truly say that I am super happy that the muppets are regaining their popularity after several years of being almost dormant.
My only concern is the release date itself. It seems like a fair release date, and I would go...
I believe a dvd releasr is in order for this specail. If nothing else, it could be released as a bonus feature on the muppet show seson 4 set. It could also air on the disney channel, ABC, ABC Family, or some other channel that disney has a hand in. It would be nice if they did something new to...
Since this year will mark the 20th anniversary of Jim's Death, do you think, if rights could be aqquired, that Disney should air or release The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson either on television or dvd. I know its not very likely that they would, but I would like to get some opinions on this topic.
I got it! Pretty good.
I got it as well. It's a pretty good little special. I only have one complaint about it and that is that the colors were very loud, but they are supposed to be... Still it is a very cute, short special that is as old as me.
:)
Well for one thing, I think it depends greatly on how technology has avanced throughout the years. Where as the stunts in the older movies are done with stings, radio controls, and wires, this movie may include more robotics for stunts.
In the first three muppet movies, we saw the muppet gang ride bikes, kermit and fozzie dance, and miss piggy swim and roller skate. What stunts would you like to see the muppets pull off in the new movie, if any?
:)
With the New Year just started, I have the highest hope that this year, the muppets will return from the rut that they have been in since Jim Henson's Demise. With all their recent television apperances , internet videos, and news from D23, its hard not to get excited. I have hope that the...
Well, if we do see a special on the last season of the muppet show, I'd say it would have to be The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson. I do beleive an online petition is order to get the older specials to be released on dvds. It worked for the fraggles, maybe Disney will listen to us. And if remember...
I just beleive that it is ridiculous that we didn't get at least the whole 1989 edit on dvd. I really don't mind minor background music being missing, but when you take out 5 songs! That's just sad. I beleive that the Jim Henson Company where just cheap and didn't want to pay to use the songs...
What would be the possibilty that A muppet Family Christmas will arrive on an uneditied DVD in the next few years. I read on Muppet Wiki that the rights to the special is now owned by Disney. Now all we have to worry about is the music rights problems. I really don't see an issue here. Disney...
Hello!
I have been a muppet fan ever since I can remember. I own alot of specials that my parents taped back when I was young, including the complete, unedited version of A Muppet Family Christmas, The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson and several others. I'd love to talk with all of you about...
