I love Fozzie and Kermit performing The World's Funniest Joke. Good grief, the comedian's a bear! No he's not, he's a wearin' a neckatie!
And, from the Muppet rendition of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas," there's this gem:
All: And bring us some figgy pudding...
Piggy: Piggy pudding...
Re: ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!
You ask: Is this just opinion or do you have factual evidence as to why all of the Muppets are 100% made up.
I ask: do YOU have any factual evidence as to why Miss Piggy is based on a character from M*A*S*H*? If so, I haven't seen it yet. But, the basic fact...
We need more female Muppets. How about some karate chopping Charlie's Angels Muppets of Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu? A Britney Spears Muppet for Janice to beat up?
The ideal Muppet movie would have:
- Original songs sung by the Muppets
- General silliness (ie references to chickens, fake vomit, peanut butter, etc)
- Celebrity cameos
- Penguins, penguins, penguins!
I saw some Kermit and Miss Piggy costumes at Target. They were kid-sized. I tried to convince my husband that they would stretch to accomodate our adult-sized frames, but he was not convinced. Instead, we'll be going as a renaissance king and queen. The costumes are really cool and include...
Personally, I think this whole issue is moot. Maybe some of the Muppets were originally inspired by celebrities, but in the past 25 years they have developed their own personalities. Miss Piggy is not "supposed to be Hot Lips." She is Miss Piggy, and that's that.
Maynard's new. I don't...

Just to name a few!
Gonzo embraces the weird and silly. Plus, he is completely fearless. Want to shoot him out of a cannon? He's in! Want him to eat a rubber tire to the tune of flight of the bumblebee? Bring it on!
I love Fozzie because all he wants to do is to be funny and make people laugh. Sure he doesn't always succeed, but he keeps on trying, even in the face of heckling from Statler & Waldorf.
Miss Piggy would get a few votes for her laziness and diva behavior, but ultimately Sam the Eagle would be voted out. Sam would be very opinionated, would look down on the group of "weirdos" that he's been teamed with, and would probably boss everyone around a bit. That's exactly the kind of...
I'm going to have to vote for hysterically funny. I mean, wow--when you accidentally tackle a politician's wife while dressed in a bunny suit, that's when you know you've lived.
I'm still waiting for that moment.
