I don't know if others have had the problem, but for what ever reason iTunes seems to offer the podcast a number of days after I see the episode of the Muppetcast has been posted.
Is this due to Steve doing the RSS update a little later or maybe an issue with iTunes.
Anyhow, I grabbed the...
Okay, this whole conversation sort of segways well into something I wanted to start a new thread with...
Now that Disney officially owns The Muppets, what DO we call the rest of the puppets made by the Henson Company?
Take for example the very Muppet-like puppets in Puppet Up Uncensored...
Kevin,
I am definitely envious. I am hoping to meet Carroll at some time in the near future.
I don't know if it has been touched on at the forum, but my mom cut out a newspaper article about him. I guess there was a child who was dying of cancer. Carroll called him and talked with him on the...
It's the weekly labor of love by muppetcentral poster StephenJLizard. Steve does a really good 60+ minute weekly podcast about the Muppets, Sesame Street, and all things Henson. I have been a fan for roughly 6 months and just love his format and the songs/bits he puts in from Muppet movies...
One last thing that I didn't see mentioned was about NBC's hi-def broadcast. This probably led to the weird cropping some people complained about. Having a widescreen hi-def TV, this was my first true hi-def Muppet Experience. It was amazing to see the textures of the puppets so clearly. I...
That same question hit me as I watched. With Disney owning ABC, why would the basic relaunch of the Muppet brand be allowed to take place on a rival network?
TeacherLady: Thanks for a great review that sounded straight from a theater magazine. I really do want to see the show and know its not a terribly bad 2 hour drive for me.
I understand how you felt with Jerry Nelson. I think these Muppeteers DO realize the amazing connection their work has to...
I don't know the work or money that would go into this sort of licensing, but I'd surely shell out the money to have DVD versions of that stuff with "the Kerm" back in them. I for one WAS pretty psyched when he unexpectedly (for me at least) popped up for a cameo on Mr. Magorium's Wonder...
I watched it today. It was fun, but a bit repetitive by the end. I did like that they referred to the Ghost Hunters' episode covering the Henson studios. As typical Henson/Muppet fare, the puppet used the human host for joke fodder.
It's good to see that I am not the only one who apparently though this show was worth remembering. I thought it was hilarious and definitely edgy. With that said, I am also very much hoping that this new Henson project will come to fruition and be as entertaining as I think it has the potential.
Steve,
Loved it as usual. I will admit to being VERY GREEN EYED hearing the stories about meeting Muppeteers on your show over the past few weeks. I think meeting Brian Henson or Steve Whitmire and getting to chat with them for a while would classify as one of the coolest things I would ever do.
Steve,
It was nice to hear a shoutout for you at the beginning and the sing along stuff was great!
Looks like initial plans for my wife and I to hit the Emmet Otter Musical for December are in the works.
I think the cross-generational appeal of the Henson creations is what draws all of us in like this. The stuff that attracted us as kids is equally as entertaining nowadays, and often moreso as we understand the LAYERS of humor that Jim and all of the muppeteers could interject in their writing...
Hey all,
My name is Matt. I got referred this way through listening to the Muppetcast. I'm pretty willing to bet that most listeners and posters here did that the opposite way. Anyhow, I am a lifelong Muppet fan, cutting my teeth on the 1975-1979 seasons of Sesame Street and the original...
I have done festival roadie stuff for the Doctor (John, not Teeth) on a couple occasions. While definitely having his eccentricities, he is a very approachable man in my experience. ...and yes, the whole time I was talking to him I was geeking out inside to be meeting the inspiration of the...
