Okay, first of all, that report was filed by "Julius Marx", which was Groucho's real name. So, either he's back from the dead with a newfound interest in collectibles, or that's a pseudonym. So, until eFX announces it officially, I'm not believing that that's the real set-in-stone price...
When a union goes on strike, some shows and independent producers make their own deals with the union and therefore don't have to go on strike. During the last Writers Guild strike, David Letterman's company made a separate deal and was able to bring their writers back to work after a few weeks...
Yes, the right arm is just held in place with a t-pin. That I know for sure. The legs I assume are also pinned, although they could have put a stitch or two in them to hold them together like that.
All the Kermits were Jim's personal Kermit. But he did have a particular one that he took...
Well, as the Vice President of The Animation Guild, local 839 of IATSE, I have a little bit of knowledge about unions.
Yes, unions are necessary. Producers take advantage of people who aren't in unions. I wish that weren't the case, but it is.
However, most unions are "closed shops"...
I don't know where they would make this grand announcement. It's anti-climactic to just put up a sign in their booth (that they're sharing with two other companies) and even if eFX is doing a panel (which I'll be surprised to find out they are), their big draw is still "Star Wars." It doesn't...
Well, here's my thought process...
They've already made all their big announcements about "Star Wars" replicas. That is their biggest license and customer base. What value is there in waiting to announce something about the Muppets at Comic-Con when only a small portion of their customer...
I don't know about the deflated basketball, and I never saw the glove (didn't turn him inside out), I only felt it. It could have easily been a garden glove, because those are very easy to slip on your hand.
:p
You can even clearly see which side the opening is on in that video. It's the right side so it was easier for Frank's left hand to stuff things into it.
:p
I think I posted this somewhere a long time ago, but it's easier for me to just type it again than search for it.
There is no foam for the hand or wrist. There is a full glove sewn to the inside of his mouth that the puppeteer puts his hand into. Especially in the earlier Cookie that we...
I completely agree with you. I never liked him as much after they rebuilt him with a stiff "duck bill" mouth rather than the floppy mouth that you could manipulate with your fingers. They have gone back to more of the rounded shape for his mouth as opposed to the more squared off version.
:p
You know, I think you may be on to something here. It seems that people don't understand what these are. They look at them as overpriced dolls rather than replicas of the actual "photo puppets" that the professionals use. And I think this goes back to the original problem of these not being...
The reason they don't produce more and keep a backlog is because in the long run, it costs them more to store the items than it's worth. It's true that if they made more, they could be made cheaper, but then they get stuck storing what doesn't sell.
I agree that the Palisades Muppets were...
Look, I prefaced my comments by saying everyone should decide what they can afford and what they can't afford. I don't feel that was being disrespectful. It was just stating a fact.
As for MR, I loved Kermit, liked Animal and hated Gonzo so much, I didn't buy him. Had he been a couple...
