Gonzo is currently my least favorite sculpt-wise. Like Piggy, he's easily recognizable, but his sculpt does seem too cartoonish. He seems like an older version of his animated Muppet Baby character. I've been trying to dig up some other pictures in the last few minutes to do a side by side...
Well, back on digital film, I was speaking from someone who has never actually experienced digital projection. I was not aware of pixelation. If the technology is not perfected yet to where I'm seeing a clear picture, then I would probably prefer film. I assumed it was already good enough to...
You'd really prefer to watch all the scratches, dust, dirt, pops and cracks than a clean digital projection? Too me the imperfections don't endear me to film, they take me out of the film. Every reel change pulls me out of a film.
Oh well, there are those who like their vinyl record...
I thought I'd revive this post with a bit from a Jim Hill article posted today. Here's what he said about why "Treasure Planet" flopped:
I really find this news to be quite interesting. I've really felt like in the last few years there's been a fundamental shift in the way we watch movies...
I agree. I've enver collected busts, so I'm not familiar with price ranges, but it does seem like something like that with no moving parts or electronic features really shouldn't be as expensive as it is. I mean, if I can buy a full series of figures that I can pose and play with for less than...
Oddly enough, I've been waiting for years and years for some great Country Bears merchandise. I've always loved that show despite my disdain for country music. I've wanted Big Al toys and merchandise forever. Finally they release a movie and merchandise, but they changed everything for the...
I just finished watching this show a couple weeks ago. Definitely the type of movie to leave a bad taste in one's mouth. Unlike deliberately offensive movies like South Park or Monty Python's Meaning of Life, this isn't shock with a point, it's shock for shock. It's offense purely for...
Just curious, but does anyone have good evidence of this? I mean, I haven't seen many Animal playsets on the shelves, but still see tons of Muppet Labs. I have no idea whether to attribute it to the fact that the Labs isn't selling well so they won't put out the Stage until there's more shelf...
I just finished reading "The Ultimate History of Video Games" which had some absolutely amazing stories in it. A large chunk is devoted to Nolan Bushnell and Atari. I had no idea that he bought his undeveloped pizza arcade idea back from Atari when he got ousted and went on to make Chuck E...
We've just barely been getting into Veggie Tales at my home. My kids (2 & 1) absolutely love them and request them often. The writers are very influenced by Monty Python and readily admit it. Just look at their "Jericho" episode where they practically recreate the French Taunter scene right...
I too applaud Sponebob as a wonderful show. Where else can you see an entire episode about a Sponge having the time of his life playing with a plain piece of white paper?
What I'm not looking forward to is the inevitable Spongebob movie. If it's not in production yet, I'm sure it will be...
I honestly don't remember "Bear On Patrol" at all. None of the DVDs I own (about 4 of them) have a Bear On Patrol sketch on them, yet I've got several Veterinarian's Hospitals, Muppet Labs, Swedish Chef's, and other regulars like At The Dance, Muppet Newsman, and even slightly less regulars...
Finally! I've been waiting for a picture like that. It really helps to see the scale much better than other things I've seen. Thanks for that, scarecroe.
I still think Dr. Teeth is the coolest of the cool. I really like the new set, but the psychedelic power that eminates from Teeth draws me in a like a rainbow marshmellow-fish in a tapioca waterfall on its way to the magical sunshine world.
Actually, I'd say it was more of a throwback to classic WB cartoons. Earlier Disney had slapstick, but not much of the random zaniness of a great Bugs Bunny cartoon.
