Y'know, I actually recently read somewhere (forget where though) that the character of Sue Ellen was based on a girl that Marc Brown had a crush on as a boy, so that could have something to do with it.
I don't think we're supposed to be surprised that he's good at chess because he isn't a dumb character, I think we're supposed to be surprised that he's good at chess because you wouldn't expect someone like him would even be interested in things like that.

I rarely like videos anyway. The only time I like a video is if one of mine gets an excessive amount of dislikes from trolls, then I'll give myself sympathy likes to try and out number the dislikes.

WALL-E, story-wise, was interesting, it didn't have just a whole lot to offer, mainly due to the limited dialogue, but other than that, I think it's one of Pixar's more eye-candy feats, it certainly has a lot of beautiful animation. I can understand being people offended my the fat people...

Let me guess... this supposed sequel to ANCHORMAN is going to be like EVAN ALMIGHTY, where they do a story focusing on Steve Carell's supporting character, just so he can have a vehicle to continue to overexpose himself in our entertainment?
