Okay, seriously, what is up with HAPPY TREE FRIENDS? I mean really, all the blood and guts and brain matter and organs, is this cartoon made by a bunch of psychos or what?
Did you guys know that the characters from SIGMUND AND THE SEA MONSTERS were basically modeled after the characters of ALL IN THE FAMILY? Big Daddy and Sweet Mama were essentially sea monster puppets of Archie and Edith Bunker.
Actually, I just got to thinking... didn't MTV actually officially drop "Music" from their name a few years ago? I seem to recall a discussion thread about that here whenit happened.
I miss those old I LOVE... shows VH1 used to have, but then again, I like celebrity commentary shows for some reason... I guess that's why I watch WORLD'S DUMBEST... on truTV.... come to think of it, truTV DOES still play WORLD'S WILDEST POLICE VIDEOS on occasion, as does SpikeTV... in fact...
Maybe Alex's father got involved in an incident where he picked up a transvestite hooker, then knocked him out, saw the police, fled from the scene, drove back to his house, then decided to ellude the police by diving into the closet, and hiding under a pile of dirty clothes.
Oh no wait, that...
You know, you can actually get in trouble for posting meaningless replies like that.
Actually, that reminds me of another thing too: ABC Family doesn't even play family-friendly programming anymore. I mean really, almost all the programs they air anymore are about subject matters like teenaged...
I remember another one:
CourtTV used to show WORLD'S WILDEST POLICE VIDEOS, FORENSIC FILES, and stuff like that, until they became truTV, and started playing reality shows similar to A&E, and rehashes of WORLD'S DUMBEST... (which I do like, but the rehash shows are just plain pitiful)...
Agreed. I used to LOVE THE PLANET'S FUNNIEST ANIMALS... then they tried to make it a knock-off of AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS by bringing in a live audience and having the host (Keegan Michael Key replacing Matt Galant) interact with them.

We're always complaining about channels that no longer play the kinds of programs that defined what they were as channels, so I figured for easy reference, we could use this thread to compile a list of those channels.
A&E used to broadcast informational programs, such as BIOGRAPHY; now they...
I VAGUELY remember that movie... seems like I saw it at least once when I was maybe three or four, but it's a really fuzzy memory.
Guess I better head for YouTube.
Say... isn't that that movie where a girl (whom in my mind reminds of Loonette from THE BIG COMFY COUCH) teams up with a dude and goes on this fanciful quest to search for Mother Goose?

I know I've been saying this a lot, but once again, I assumed she had been dead for a while now. :sympathy:
I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before, but it's kind of reached a level of ridiculousness at this point:
So, a bunch of people are actually petitioning Oprah, demanding that she remove all of Tyler Perry's work from her OWN network, because his movies and shows are "racist"... which honestly...
I've noticed that too: I think a lot of it has to do with ratings... networks want to bring in ratings during certain times of the year (known as "sweeps"), and with Christmas being the big commercial racket that it is, I'm sure the networks want to cash in on it as much as they can with having...
I opened a ZippCast account... and wow... I mean wow... these guys aren't just trying to be like the old YouTube, these guys ARE the old YouTube... seriously, they're EXACTLY THE SAME IN EVERY SINGLE LITTLE DETAIL... I'm scared...
