    War Coverage: Gratuitous or Necessary?

Problem with the news channels and news coverage in the UK is that all their resources are being used in the Gulf - they are completely 24/7 War, is there any other news actually happening in the world ? I'm thinking people could get away with a lot of stuff at this time - celebrities 'coming...

    Muppet Figures Display Racks

You probably shouldn't use the title 'Palisades Toys Muppet Figures Display Racks' - it gives the impression these are Palisades products, a nice idea for displaying the figures though.

Life imitates art imitates eBay imitates Muppet Central

How much is that 1976 Fisher Price Fozzie actually worth ? Someone gave me one the other day - i think i prefer the Namco version though.

    UK DVDs

R2 UK DVD's (PAL) should actually look and be of far higher quality than R1 USA (NTSC) - we have a better quality framerate. Sometimes they use up more of the space on our discs with Euro subtitles and language tracks though which might cause some loss of quality. Maybe Boober your DVD player...

Eisner confirms Disney could buy Henson and Muppets soon

Valentine didn't drop out weeks ago - Muppet Central just re-used the Reuters headline and it was a confusing one so people didn't realise that it's that specific deal that dropped out, not the person. Valentine was looking to bid again under different terms and maybe with different people...

A Look Back to 1990: Disney and Henson

Great article, and great work typing that up Jamie ! It's interesting to see how pumped up Jim was about the merger as it was back then, which obviously would be completely different if it happened now. I wonder how it would have turned out - whether it would have lived upto Jim Henson's...

    Yet another Henson/Disney article - LaughingPlace.com

Wow - great inside news ! Thanks for that - it realy is looking more and more like Disney will get them then. There is definitely an article that put Entertainment Rights out of the running - it may well have been posted on the forum here and not made it to the website. The article where...

    Yet another Henson/Disney article - LaughingPlace.com

Valentine dropped out in the last two days ? Do you have a source for that ? We don't even have it here, neither do Reuters nor AP/PA or any of the other news wires. The last thing to reach the press is that, as you said in the article, they ended the negotiations on the previous 49.9% deal...

    Yet another Henson/Disney article - LaughingPlace.com

It's not bad, very well written and contains great insight - it does have a major problem though - some of the source matierial you used (i'm guessing some reuters articles) is probably six months out of date. The figure Disney are now spouting is $70 Million, not $135 Million which was a price...

    Ask Ken at Palisades

Count, There is something in the Palisades website 'Frequently Asked Questions' about what to do concerning faulty or defective toys - you are told to contact customer services by email at info@palisadestoys.com and they get back to you. I couldn't say whether the problem with Animal would...

What Happened with my "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

Well done Quinn, $8,000 is still very much an acomplishment - you did really well. Yeah burning up too many lifelines on a question, and early on is definitely a bad move - i've seen lots of people end the game midway cos of that. I hope your show airs soon. It's all about the experience and...

    War Coverage: Gratuitous or Necessary?

Better still, put a dodgy moustache and a military uniform on him and he can be one of Saddam's doubles - do a few television addresses or something. It's not like Kermit hasn't impersonated dictators before - remember his Hitler impression in that old EMTV logo ? This could be the publicity...

    Interesting Gulf War News

Yeah now ya see the Chicken Dance Elmo's wouldn't be so bad - cos i could show it to all the other Iraqi's who have been starved of Elmo all this time (maybe once it's been liberated we can all move over) and get them to learn it. Then i could hold one massive Chicken Dance around the Ministry...

    War Coverage: Gratuitous or Necessary?

To me either they might as well do it or don't. Making it sombre just puts more focus on the war and less on the films, and gives every two bit actor or actress a change to get the attention they didn't get on the way in by making some (probably pre-written by someone with more brains)...

    Interesting Gulf War News

Whether or not he wanted war, he probably knew there was no chance of sorting this out through the U.N. I mean having a resolution that depends on Saddam Hussein telling the the truth about what he has ? I don't think the guy would even give a straight answer if you asked him if he wanted a...

    War Coverage: Gratuitous or Necessary?

I think they should cancel the Oscars, the whole point is that it's a big event with glitz and glamour - making it sombre and cutting the glitz makes it look like we are letting these things affect us. They should say they'll do it bigger and better later in honor of all the liberated people In...

Eisner confirms Disney could buy Henson and Muppets soon

Re: New Article You see already this is going the way the doubters might have expected, they haven't even got them yet and the emphasis is 'distribution'. Where's the articles that say Disney is planning to invest millions in the Henson Company and are planning to relaunch the Muppets with...
