Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
The thing we all have to realise is Jim was the driving force behind The Muppets. No Jim equals no driving force. It's kinda like one of your own family dying. You can only remember all the good times and the stories that other people can tell you about that person. You can't expect anyone else...
The problem is, main contributors like Frank Oz decided to start to distance themselves away from The Muppets soon after Jim died. There is so much amazing stuff that has been recorded and archived from before 1990 that needs to be dusted off and shown to the fans. We are all aware that the...
Please try to remember, it was Brian's idea to sell the rights to Disney and seeing he worked with his father on many projects AND became the chairman of Jim Henson Productions, as well as being Jim's son, I think he has more of an idea of what should be happening with The Muppets than you.
Jim merely used puppets as a way of getting into television. He was not protective of The Muppets at all. He realised that they were a way to make money and a way to entertain. He was not in favour of Muppet Puppets because he thought it might spoil the illusion he took time to create on screen...
By the way, don't forget that it was Disney that decided of the whole 50th Anniversary Tour in the first place. I would have rather seen that money go into releasing classic Muppet material than have "Kermit" turning up for guest appearances all over America!
So I take it you would rather have NO MUPPET RELEASES AT ALL than the ones that Disney are releasing? Glad you feel so much for Jim's work that you would rather them all stay hidden away and never get released!
The best way to get him to stand by himself is to make sure he is leaning down as far forward as possible and his feet are turned outward as much as you can before it starts to look like an unnatural pose. He should be almost flat footed on the left but standing on the inner part of the right...
Everytime a new Kermit is made, they change the design very slightly. The early Kermit from season 1 of The Muppet Show didn't have many articulation points on the photo puppet so they couldn't make him do as much as they wanted. There were wires through the arms and legs so they could bend and...
If Disney had killed The Muppets, there wouldn't be so many people using this forum and there also wouldn't be so many people looking forward to the forthcoming Kermit Photo Puppet Replica and ANY Muppet release that Disney have had a hand in so-far. The Muppet Show Season One DVD box set is one...
He seems to have a bit of a underbite problem. I think it's due to the fact that you rarely see a photo of Kermit with his mouth open that little. Most photos of him, whether puppet of photo puppet, show him with a wide "smile" or his mouth completely closed. He is the closest that most of us...
The Muppet Show album was released in 1977 on vinyl and cassette but has never been released in it's entirety since. We get a "best of" compiled at the end of the Muppet Wizard Of Oz soundtrack CD and not much else. This is my prosed remastered artwork for a re-release of the original Muppet...
I can't believe that they will be using Piggy on the front of season two. Fozzie Bear was really coming into his own by the second season and deserves to adorn the front. I did prefer the 3rd Piggy cover even tho they have chosen shots of her that bears no resemblance to how she looked during...
Gonzo being classed as an alien wasn't the greatest plotline. He had always been a "whatever" or even a "matchbox frackle" according to The Tale Of The Tinkerdee. There were many whatknot or whatever Muppets in Sesame Street and The Muppet Show and I thought that was quite a charming way of...
Any idea who actually owns the rights to Muppet Babies? Are they owned by the same company as Muppets Take Manhattan cos that particular movie wasn't sold with the rest of the Muppet stuff to Disney. It is still owned by Tristar Pictures.
I wish the heads of these companies could get together and realise that they can all profit if they give the consumer what they want instead of hacking up these pieces of art.
