You are right. The some of the extra language soundtracks on the DVD have the other arrangement. It would be nice to hear an isolated soundtrack. They must have it if the can do a multi-language soundtrack over the original backing track.

I have most of them on original LPs or CDs but I have never managed to get hold of a copy of the Muppet Music Album... pity.

Alot of the stuff, not all but alot, can be purchased second-hand from eBay. Hopefully we will see some of this stuff being re-released on CD in the near future. Disney own the rights, you would think they would want to make the most out of the material they now own.

I have the original UK soundtrack and the 97 minute version of the movie on video. If they are not the same, they are pretty close! Even down to the "disco" beat and the way Frank Oz's voice doesn't seem to sync with the backing track properly towards the end.

The vocals on the UK soundtrack and longer video release (from Palace Video in the mid 80s) are definitely a different recording to the one on the US soundtrack and 1993 CD release. I wonder if the change in the mix was anything to do with the fact the UK were slightly behind as far as disco...

We should have an Animal to add to our Kermit in the next few months. There is no guarantee that we will get any more replicas after that. Let's just hope they sell well enough to warrant MR releasing more.
