I know this has probably been addressed before but my memory isn't great. The Animal poser replica shown in the photos on the MR website, are they of the finished item from China or are they a prototype? The Gonzo listing states clearly that it [Gonzo] is a protoype but the Animal once doesn't...
Piggy wigs... lol
I'd like to see her wearing her dress and purple opera gloves with a slightly darker blonde look to her hair. Her cheeks aren't quite so chubby nowadays and I think she may have had a nose job somewhere down the line. (Sorry Piggy!)
The thing was, when Piggy (and Kermit) did Parkinson, Frank and Jim were very much on display. It was a much more natural and comfortable performance. That was the good thing about when Jim did Kermit. He never really minded about being shot while performing Kermit on a talk show or whatever...
Not sure she'd like to hear you say that! :p
Her husband did a duet with Piggy a few years back and he worked with Kermit on The Party At The Palace thing for The Queen's Jubilee.
Gonzo was supposed to be an abstract character, just like a lot of the Muppets. None of Jim's characters on TMS could be considered acurate representations of real animals or people anyway.
Perfectly true. If we base the fact that the guys buying the new replicas were the same kids buying the Muppet merch back in the 70s/early 80s, those would seem to be the obvious "main seven". I wonder how MR see it?
I was really impressed with the S & W Pallisades figures and I'd love to see full-size replicas of them. How about making a mock-up balcony to display them in?
ATV wasn't exactly a channel as such, it was more of a production company based in the Midlands (although its studios were miles away in London) that aired it's programs on the UKs ITV channel. It disappeared in 1982 when Central Independant Television took over and moved the studios to...
I agree. The suit in the pic is a little harsh but the colours in those pics look a little harsh altogether. Plus, it looks a little silky, shouldn't it be a mock velvet texture? I'm no expert tho.
As for dressing Gonzo, if he is roughly the same size as Kermit, clothes age 9-12 months should...
I never saw him in a red suit. The maroon suit was in the early seasons, after that I don't think he wore a suit very much. He wore a black tux once or twice I think and the daredevil outfit was worn a lot during the later seasons too. Since the Muppet Show his dress has been very different with...
Any idea how MR come about making choices for new replicas? Do they just choose one at random or do they actually do a survey for it? Or is it down to whoever Muppets Holding decide to let them release?
I think here we would have the same problem as with Scooter. It all depends on who they are aiming the line at. I think he might win against Scooter simply and the manufacturing front (he would be a lot cheaper and also easier to re-create) but it's anybody's guess whether he would sell as well...
A "build your own Doozer" kit? That'd be a nice idea. Not sure what market it would be aimed at but I could definitely see how it could work. A generic Doozer body and head and various arms, legs and features. They could give you the bits to re-create your favorite Doozers or design your own.
Saying that, I was really impressed with the Pallisades Sweetums Mega Muppet. The detail was amazing.
After Piggy and Fozzie, Rowlf, Scooter then Rizzo or Robin for me. I'd buy Pepe if he was released, and I think we probably will see him sometime soon, but I'd hope for the older characters...
