    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thread

The Movie based ones were the best TMNT toys they had at the time. They actually looked like what they were supposed to be. And I liked the soft, rubbery plastic of those movie turtles better than the hard, shiny plastic of the regular Turtles. I just never liked how when they finally came...

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

This following insight from TV Tropes: As you can see, it's a very passive aggressive story as to why we have 2 similar films (though not in tone). I really did enjoy Bug's Life, but Antz went to darker places with a similar concept. It actually managed to be the more memorable movie out...

    Animaniacs

Barry Gordon and occasionally Greg Berg. I really should know who did Donatello in 2k3 without looking it up. Sam Riegel, after looking it up.

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

I like the first, second, and fourth Shrek, but they're so incredibly smug as films go. I actually preferred the Puss in Boots side movie to every other movie in the Shrek franchise. But most of Pixar's stuff is better than the competition. I needn't bad mouth Sony for the thousandth time...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thread

The toys were fair for their day. We've just had leaps and bounds in advancements since then. Some of the variants were pretty fun (the Universal Monsters and Star Trek lines especially)... but then when you have Mikey as a disgruntled party clown, that's kinda what were they thinking territory...

    Animaniacs

Whoever drew that got the wrong Raphael and the Right Donatello. I actually really like Rob's Donatello. Maybe even more than the last guy who's name I can't remember off hand.

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thread

I find the old figures a joke. They don't look a thing like the characters (I think that's supposed to be par for the course with 1980's cartoons... He-Man figures didn't look a thing like the cartoons either). Those idiotic plastic model type weapons (I'm so disappointed they made a come...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

3-D is only really good for cartoons. Somehow, it makes real live action shot film look fuzzy and dark. Even if they shoot it in 3-D. it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't charge so much for it, and shove it into irrelevant movies. Marvel action hero movies, fine. Great Gadsby, not so much...

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

It seems that way, but the Pixar higher ups are still involved heavily with Disney's theatrical animated productions. On the one hand, I'm glad they got rid of the cheapquels for the most part, but on the other hand, we really need more DTV Mickey and Co projects. If they can make a successful...

What TV Show has the most Spin offs?

    Let's not forget Filmation's 2 animated Gilligan's Island shows.

What year did it all change for the worst?

Here's the wonderful thing about season 33. None of the people involved with the show liked it either, and it changed quite quickly after that. Journey to Ernie was completely awful in its first incarnation, but the following season, they changed the concept completely so it was actually...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

Did anyone mention that Danny Trejo is going to be in this one? Between him and Ricky Gervais, they really want to get back actors who were left on the cutting room floor for this one.

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

I got a recast for you... Replace Morshu the Shop Keep from that terrible Link and the Faces of Evil game with Chamberlain Skesis. They both have a knack for going mmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmm....

    PBS shows

I HATE Big Comfy Couch! Always have. I hate the fact that the star of the show is the same voice actor as Jubilee from the 1990's X-Men, of whom I had a childhood cartoon crush on (something I'm ashamed to admit). And I hated how annoying it was when my sister watched it. But then again, I...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

On the other hand, it's not like Super Hero spoofs aren't common. There's more spoof heroes than serious ones now. Coming from someone who dreamed of having a hip indie comic Super Hero parody, that's saying something. I swear that Megamind found the last angle of smart Super Hero parodies...

"The Looney Tunes Show" premieres May 3, 2011

Tiny Toons came out at an unfortunate time when Hanna Barbera was dumping out a bunch of Muppet Babies-esque shows. It came off as a follow the leader, without the actual intention of being a next generation series. And then John K badmouthed the crap out of it, as did everyone who'd later...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

The problem was that they were parodying Scream. And Scream was supposed to be a satire in the first place. The Freidberg/Selzer movies are just as many references they can fit into a single film. They don't even bother watching them, and steal them based on the previews. They even...

Campaign for Medicom to make Life-Sized Muppets!

I honestly wouldn't mind large scale action figures. I really liked the Muppet Megas line (even though I never got Animal, and he's probably too expensive to track down). I'm just saying it would be great if they produced both flocked and unflocked versions.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

I hate being the nostalgic guy since I rail on it so much... whatever happened to good parody movies? The First Scary Movie actually was pretty good considering. Then they ha to go and change the directors with the third one, and then the really bad ones started crapping out.
