Okay, can we please stop with all the, "From executive producer" promos? Executive producers don't do anything with the actual production, all they do is finance the project, or, they're simply given the credit because they have a big name and contributed some form of input.
And Sofia Vergara...
There you go.
And too, if you ask me, ratings seemed a little clumsier back in those days too... I've seen some older R-rated movies (like some of those really old Charles Bronsan movies) that probably would've only gotten PG-13 today... I heartell back in those days, half the time movies were...
I don't care for Comcast's synopsis for TMM:
"Puppets upstage celebrity stars as Kermit leaps at a change for stardom."
Upstage celebrity stars? Uh, the celebrities weren't the stars, they were the cameos, so there was no upstaging.
I don't think it was really an open workshop, they did say that your submission needed to be private or unlisted, and they also said that space was limited.
I haven't heard anything one way or another, but I think they're still combing through submissions, as I think I saw someone mention that...
I seem to recall reading in Tom Bergeron's book that when he was booked into a club one time, being billed as a magician, he opened up his act with this gem of a line:
"I'm not really a magician. My trick is making the audience disappear."
I lost interest as soon as you said NPH was in it.
Seth MacFarlane really doesn't need to make movies; vulgar, low-brow comedy movies are a dime a dozen anyway, have been for years now.
Same with LABYRINTH, he poured his heart and soul into that one too, and it tanked, Caroll even said Jim went into a deep depression over that for quite sometime.
Not sure about DARK CRYSTAL (likewise I still haven't seen it yet either, and I know it's been on cable quite a bit lately), but...
I wasn't sure if this thing was supposed to be accurate or not, I thought it was interesting that the first I heard of it, a friend of mine from Kansas got results saying her dialect comes from Boston, Providence, places like that.
But yeah, as I said, my results were pretty much spot on.
:sigh:
So, I see a commercial for Disney Parks, and sure enough, the centerpiece of the commercial is Darth Vader... boy, Disney sure didn't waste anytime is plastering their name all over this franchise, just like the Muppets.
Well, Jim Henson and George Lucas were really good friends, so it probably was a given that Star Wars characters would pop up on TMS and SST (similarly, I'm almost certain I saw Miss Piggy on the screen of the video gorilla from TWICE UPON A TIME, which Lucas executive produced).
Disney didn't...
As far as THE SIMPSONS go, I think some local markets may still do, because it really wasn't too awful long ago I was watching "Homer Alone" from Season Three on my local FOX.
As far as THE BIG BANG THEORY goes, I have two answers for that:
First, the straight forward answer: There's an...
True. True. The more I think about it, Drtooth does kind of have a point, as much trouble as Jim had in getting any kind of interest in most of his projects, such as TMS, the Muppets in general may have been a complete failure if Jim's were an independent company, because (SST aside), nobody...
Why does one half hour episode of a TV show require like half a dozen writers to come up with the story and another half dozen to actually write the teleplay nowadays?
