As the caravan first pulls out of Sesame Street to go find Big Bird, Oscar looks... dead! Seriously, his head's flopped lifelessly down to one side. That's kind of... disturbing...
I know there's the whole Irma was ripped off from Jeanette thing that's been around since, well, forever, but am I the only one out there who thinks...
You know, after all this time, I think I've pretty much come to a point where I can only take just about everything Sid & Marty Krofft say with a grain of salt... not only are there so many inconsistencies with their stories (was their father really a puppeteer or a clock salesman, was Sid...
Oh, I can agree that lightning doesn't strike twice... they tried that before with MT! and it was only moderately successful (and even that's being a little generous) compared to the original TMS; I'm just saying, I'd rather a new Muppet show not basically be a Muppet version of an...
Oh yes, very much so. Well, winter started too late and ended too early down here, but when it was winter, it got unusually cold and snowy even for us... at one point, we had eight inches of snow (three is usually the most we ever get), meanwhile we had highs in the teens, and lows below 0...
Okay, clearly I'm out of the loop here, so I gotta ask, what are these Ernie and Bert Park sketches you guys are talking about? Do they take place in the park, or do they have their own theme park, or what?
What is this whole KSY TV show you keep talking about? This is news to me, I've never heard anything about that before, I'm pretty sure it's always been a made-for-TV movie (because "DTV" are those old MTV-inspired Disney compilation specials from the 80s and 90s).
If we do get a new Muppet show, I really don't want to see it try to be like another show. Disney was trying to do that back in the 2000s by having the Muppets do their own version of THE OFFICE, I really don't want to see a Muppet version of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIAM.
I just happened to think... has the old "Whatever" schtick gotten old? When Jimmy asked Gonzo what exactly was he, I was expecting Gonzo to respond with, "A, um... Whatever", but that wasn't the case.
Um... KSY did have some edge to it, given the time it was made. Croaker especially seemed to use a little more "mature" language throughout the movie (but then again, it's Bill Barretta, what do you expect).
I still say KSY has a "Film School 101" look and feel to it, but in a good way. It's not overly stylized, and it doesn't rely too heavily on a lot of special or visual effects to carry the movie... and of course, more of actual puppetry techniques were utilized, as opposed to the heavy use of...
When I first stepped outside today, I literally walked into swarms of boxelder bugs.
Seriously! This is a first! I've seen layers of 'em before, like every spring at the old apartment building I lived at, the entire backside of the building would be covered in a layer of them, but this was the...
My feelings about that Flintstones movie are more along the lines of a love-hate kind of thing.
It's certainly not a bad movie at all, it definitely came from a time when modern remakes of nostalgic franchises were actually good... and with the possible exception of Rosie as Betty (she wasn't...
Okay, here's a rather embarrassing one...
You know how whenever we somehow get onto the discussion of dirty pop songs from the 90s and 2000s, I always mention songs we'd hear on the school bus almost everyday, including one that contained a line, "Even when you lick my boob, I'm crazy over...
