Since the other topic on this is as old a doozer towers made out of mushrooms I decided to start a new one : ).
Everyone probably knows I ship Cantus/Mokey as well as Mokey/Boober (not only because both work to me but because Cantus is much older, and it seems more realistic that way. I don't...
Reader Rabbit was a bit better than Dora now IMHO :coy:. But I don't think the talking to the viewer thingie is bad in itself, it's just when it is pushed so far:o...
She is alright but I just wish shows like hers weren't in the 'talking down to the viewer' mode. It isn't so much her being a role model or not I think, it is how she teaches things...If I had to pick (from shows besides SST) I would rather have Romper Room :D! I miss good ol' Romper Room...or...
Not everyone gives into that though, which is good :). But to do that they have to have strong parents that have told them that the media isn't always right ;).
Well, if we are getting into that dresses with bloomers shouldn't be looked down upon because more than being underwear they were a symbol of women's rights to began with, so meh :3!...
But getting back on subject, putting all the new versions of characters in jeans or dress like tops with jeans...
That's the more depressing way of looking at it IMHO:sympathy:. I think the idea is that it is just the old fashion charm of the way people use to dress (but then you are talking to someone who would wear boomers and old fashion hats if people wouldn't think she was crazy. I'm thinking about...
It's weird on the other end of things to, where people seem to think the wearing a dress with cute bloomers and a bonnet/creampuff shaped hat look is also something to be looked down upon :(.
I may have been a tomboy when I was little, but I liked the pretty old fashion style dresses for dolls...
Well, looking like trashy teens (which they don't, besides wearing makeup, to me) and being turned into air heads are two different things all together:). I always thought Dora was more than a bit of an air head anyway, so that doesn't shock me...But Strawberry or Holly on the other hand, they...
But..she doesn't have anything sticking out..at all O.o I really think everyone is making too big a deal about this :P...and I am the first one to say something if things are even a little odd/weird. She looks no different than the new SSC or Holly Hobby IMHO (not that that is the best thing but...
I don't think she looks too mature at all...I don't think it is a good idea, I didn't think the first was..but I actually like the style of the picture for clothing and things...
If the fraggles did't sing themselves (more than a couple songs ) it would be very sad, since their world is not ruled over by the 'rules' of current movies anyway :)...
Well, you would think so, but I have seen plenty of fans of new movies based on older series who do think so, AU or not:p. That's the only reason why I said that as long as there is someone to remember and point to those older shows (especially with as much fraggley love as we have...
Oh, I'm sure that won't happen on the longtime fan level, I wouldn't worry until we get flooded with newbies:coy:. Even then, we can point them to the 80's show:excited:
Timeless pop singers are a good thing, it is wonderful how even some songs they sang in the 70's etc are still just as loved today :). The company has a good history of being able to get people who are timeless icons into the mix of things so I am not too worried :3
Not that FR ever was that ;).
I think, big names can ether be a good thing or a bad thing. After all, fraggles come from a timeless place so it might be best if the songs they themselves sing (if they sing :( ) do not date it :). Maybe the songs the fraggles sing would be new and then the rest...
You know, about the talking to the screen part he was talking about, I remember there was always that in SST but (at least when I was little) there was never a pause to 'let' to you 'answer'. If you wanted to say hello, you yelled it over the show itself *lol*:excited:
