Yes. I mentioned that before. I think the best way to find that out would be to somehow make contact with Carroll Spinney and ask him if he had Richard helping him with that or something.

That reminds me of something. I was reading the list of tracks on a Sesame Street album and for "Elmo's Song" and "Put Down the Duckie" they said Clifford/Kevin Clash right next to those tracks. I was thinking, when was Clifford ever on "Sesame Street?" They really need to correct that...

Yep. I looked at quite a few of those pics this morning. It was interesting seeing early photos of the Muppets and Matt Robinson and Hal Miller. Somebody posted before that Matt was the only Gordon to have an Afro, but it seems like Hal had one two. Too bad there weren't any pics of...

THANK YOU, DR. TOOTH!!! I'VE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT THAT EVER SINCE I SAW THAT SPECIAL!!! NOW, I CAN SLEEP TONIGHT!!!!
I'm sorry, but I don't care much for character's fainting either. I don't know why, but I've just always had a problem with it.

Hmmm. There are quite a few of those on the Sesame Street Lyrics Archive. I do remember that skit where he needed a quill. I also remember his appearance at the end of "20 and Still Counting" where he suggested they sing a song. Then the whole cast starts singing that famous song, "Sing."

That's certainly food for thought. In a similar way, I wonder what would have happened if Matt Robinson still played Gordon in later years, for one thing I'D know who the heck he was. What if Matt was playing Gordon last month when he died. Would Gordon die on the show? Would...

Thanks, Punk. I saw a pic of the early Oscar at that Hooperfan site, but not very clearly. I click on the link in the message that you posted and take another look.

I see. It would be nice if I could find pictures somewhere of how these Muppets looked in the first season and how they look now and make some comparisons.

While, we're on the subject of characters changing their looks, does anyone know exactly when Oscar the Grouch first became green? I am curious about that since I know he was orange originally.

Actually, I remember reading that David was a drug addict or something in real life. I think he died because he got sick from eating grass or something. I'm not quite sure.

I watch this special on video every year and I wonder about some of the same things. As I have mentioned before Richard could have been Snuffy or he could have been a stand in for Carroll Spinney since Big Bird and Oscar are shown together a lot. I guess if Richard were alive today...

I've thought about that. I've read that Harvey Kneeslapper was retired because the laugh he did was hard on Frank's vocal chords, but then why not just let someone else do the voice? So I have to agree with you there.

Yeah. That is funny. I actually have that one on video. It's a bit out of character for Kermit though. I know he sort of ignored Miss Piggy on "The Muppet Show," but that was the first I've seen him say something that rude to her.

I remember her pretty well. She sort of sounded like Janice, only more cow-like. In fact I think she even made an appearance or two on "The Muppet Show." My favorite song of hers is "Proud to Be a Cow."
