I don't think I saw that, but I get the idea. I do detest those commericals, TV shows or movies where the kids are obnoxious smart alecks who are smarter than the goofy adults. They remind me of the nasty popular kids in school.
I think it's a combination of both parents needing to work (which they definitely do) and not being as available as they could be. Then feeling guilty and needing to spoil their kids to make up for it.
That, and an overly permissive and helpless attitude. The same attitude of, "Kids will...
I'm not hoping for any movie. I'm more concerned that it's good, considering how some of the more modern Muppet projects turned out. If it doesn't end up good, I'll try to forget it ever happened, heh.
I agree, I don't like the attitude, "Oh kids just don't like old stuff, therefore we won't show it to them." Kids don't always enjoy school or other things that are good for them. That doesn't mean parents should always accomodate. :coy:
Love the new smilies!
I do admit that I wondered why Fraggle Rock was on HBO, but the budget reason makes a lot of sense. TV creative people like Jim Henson want to be able to get their vision across but unfortunately they have to deal with money issues and network interets etc. Jim had had enough success that he was...
Honestly I don't care if it's made for TV or not. A great many bio pics are. Perhaps they're not of the highest caliber, but they're good for what they are.
Aw, good luck with those difficulties!
Hmm, ok I have a bit of a question. I wandered into a little nic nac store the other day, that turned out to have a ton of random Muppet stuff, lol. I was pleasantly surprised to see two Statler dolls! I wanted to buy one, but them my OCD kicked in and...
I do hope they add full episodes at some point, it would be a natural progression. :)
And yeah it's not updating that quickly, which is crucial on the Internet.
Top Ten Muppet Show (10 Being last but NOT least!) :):
1. Janice
2. Scooter
3. Floyd
4. Piggy
5. Kermit
6. Gonzo (in later seasons)
7. Rowlf
8. Sweetums
9. Beaker
10. Sam the Eagle
Hmm, I partially agree, but then sometimes casting directors are better left to these things. I recall when they tried making a John Lennon bio-pic and Yoko Ono allegedly wouldn't let an an actor play the role because his last name happened to be Chapman. I'm not saying the Henson family would...
Hmm, well I guess I can do mine again, this time with 1-10, lol.
1. The Muppet Movie: 10/10
2. The Muppets Take Manhattan: 10/10 (Heck, 20 out of 10!)
3. Follow That Bird: 10/10
4. Labryinth: 10/10
5. The Great Muppet Caper: 9/10
6. Dark Crystal: 7/10
7. Muppet Christmas Carol...
I agree, I probably would have enjoyed a more general Muppet bio-pic, than one just focused on Jim. They're doing it for Jim because he's the most well known. But to use the Beatles example again, I always enjoyed the bio-pics more that focused on all the Beatles, rather than just John or Paul...
I definitely think it could work, again mainly thinking of the Beatles inspired movies that have been made. They're not perfect, but they are entertaining and fun for fans. It would really depend on the writing.
Yeah I know, who could possibly fit the bill? Lol, well I personally would go with...
Did anyone read the thread on the Henson People page, about an upcoming movie about Jim Henson's life? Lol, I have to admit, I always kinda hoped someone might do this. Of course, it probably won't be entirely accurate, and it will probably overplay certain faults. But if it's a well written...
I'll keep a healthy skeptisicm, but I'm still very interested. I've often wondered if anyone would ever do this. They probably will play up some faults, just to create drama (it IS entertainment). As long as they attempt to keep a balance at the same time, I don't mind.
It's a little annoying...
