O.K., let's see if I got this right. What would I have seen if I was around to watch the show's first season:
A different actor playing Gordon
A weird looking Big Bird with more of a dopey voice
An orange Oscar the Grouch
A long-haired Luis (or did he come later?)
A...
Rizzo the Rat
Boy, I was waiting for a Rizzo thread. I like the character. It's interesting how he went from a silent background character on "The Muppet Show," then had quite a big part on "The Muppets Take Manhattan" and became Gonzo's best friend in later years. Heck, that rat could...

I don't know about that, but it was definately Frank who did Fozzie's voice in MTI. I don't think the way the writers made Fozzie have to do with his retirement. I don't know for sure. I'm just guessing.

No, you're not the only one, Tommie. I didn't know Jerry was ill either. I just found that out now. I hope he'll be back. A lot of his characters would be hard to replace.
Oh, I get it. "Journey to Ernie" shows classic Bert and Ernie skits from earlier on the show. I didn't think they played those anymore. You people probably think I'm a complete idiot for just figuring that out now. Lol. I should watch the show more often. Besides it would be good to hear...

Hmmm. I'd say they're about the same. Of course Brian's Scooter had a bigger part in the Christmas Movie. However, since Adam is Richard's brother his Scooter worked out. I like them both.

Nope. It was Nelson who voiced Statler in the Christmas movie. The only one of his characters that he didn't perform was Lew Zealand. (He was played by Bill Barretta in that)
I know I'm not secret squirrel, but I thought I'd give some input on that.

Yeah. A good example of that was in the Racquel Welsh episode of TMS when Animal attacked him then said, "I think I'll sit quietly in my dressing room." Miss Piggy can also sound like Grover when she gets angry.

I've read it was Bill who performed Dr. Teeth in MFS at imdb.com, but most other sources say it was John. Yeah, Waldorf and Statler are still around but not as often as they used to be. To be honest I never cared much for Jerry's Statler. I thought the character sounded better when...

I know what you mean. I didn't watch the show much because
A. Most episodes were aired before I was born
B. When they did show reruns I was scared to watch it because I was afraid of Animal
Anyway, that's why I bought the Timelife videos. I have been cracking up at quite a few...

That is weird. I guess, after nearly 35 years Ernie is starting to wear Bert down.
Actually, I thought Bert sounded sort of different in "Elmo's World: Happy Holidays." Of course he had hayfever then, so he was supposed to sound stuffed up. I haven't seen Eric's Bert too much other...
