I don't have much of a clue on prices, the puppet builders here have the knowledge on that - but yes, you need some kind of agreement on the licensing rights for the designs as he could put the image on t-shirts, badges, make dolls etc. If you are worried about pricing yourself above his budget...
It always pays to protect yourself, especially when doing anything for film or tv. You could be gambling tens of thousands for the sake of a few hundred bucks legal fee's. You never know when something can hit the big time and people only usually learn after a few bad experiences.
Often...
I'm not saying he knew years ahead, but there are a fair few indications he knew something major was up maybe a month or two before, and it wasn't the complete surprise as is made out - although it may well have been to the family. Very shortly before he died he was even setting up meetings...
That's exactly how it was, but isn't now. We used to have a lot of our own stuff and the best of the USA's but even though we have more kids channels now they are things like CN, Nick, Disney so mainly use imports, and because all our main "network" style channels have cut back on their kids...
I would totally agree there. The ban on sweets and fast food advertising has made things even worse in the UK, being a smaller market. It's more or less completely obliterated the kids TV market and now all we have are the American imports, although our pre-school isnt that bad as it seems to...
I really wouldn't agree that anything above pre-school is sugarcoated, worse even. I think the only big difference is we used to have the gun use, and probably less storyline. I think there's a lot less diversity now, we used to have some shows that didn't depend on licensing tie-ins but now...
Bezazel had an excellent answer. As long as you can prove copyright (that you made them) they would need to come back to you before they could use them again. The reality of it is that they could try to use them again without permission or even realising they need it, and the legal action if...
As a TV writer/producer (don't hate me!) while i pretty much agree with what all the knowledgable guys here said about TV producers and making deals in the industry i'd add that while often giving away your puppets (and often the rights) for the very low prices stated here is way, way...
Yea The Raccoons is also doing good business over on Boomerang UK. They really have brought back a few things you wouldn't have expected them to recently.
I think most of the kids channels do a good job. CN seems to be more for adult boys (i'm impressed with the concept and style of Ben 10), with Disney more for the older girls and Nick with stuff that seems aimed at both. I think Boomerang should really be doing a better job on the classic toon...
I think the ads look quite good at the top, eyecatching and well integrated.
The other ad banner, the large one underneath the Amazon search box never seems to work here. I always get a big white rectangle. Maybe a coding problem or something.

I think thats a really great and helpful idea for people to get hold of unreleased or out of print stuff. I agree sometimes ebayers are a little greedy with the pricing for copies, especially when they aren't supposed to be selling them...
It definitely makes a big difference with the closing mouth. If its that easy to do ya gotta wonder why they didnt make him like that. I thought Animal usually had a lot more hair on his top lip though.
Just to add in, Fraggle is apparently doing VERY well on Boomerang in the UK. One of their top 5 shows from what i've heard, so looks like the kids are watching it!
