Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

I don't know about terse, but yours seems to be the most rational and well-put response yet.

Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

That's one of the main reasons my PBS stopped having pledge drives ten years ago, because they weren't bringing in as much funding as they were wanting (our minimum pledge amounts jumped up from $20 to $25 per person our last pledge drive) . . . and at that time, it was mainly because those Far...

What are these things supposed to be, anyway? Superhero rejects or something? I don't get the dynamics of what their characters are.

Each of the Chipmunk movies does worse than the one before. The first one did moderately well, mainly because it was the first major Chipmunk production we had gotten since Bagdasarian Productions regained control of the franchise after Universal almost ran it into the ground in the 90s, and it...

Now what's going on with YouTube?

Here's another annoyance I wish they'd fix but I know they won't: you're apparently not allowed to have more than 25 vids in your watch history at a time, otherwise they repeat your history items, so when you remove one of the repeated items, it removes that video entirely from your history...

Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

Why are we teaching children to make transactions over the internet? You need a credit card to do that: are we teaching kids to swipe their parents' credit cards and risk not only ruining their credit scores, but making them vulnerable for possible credit fraud and theft of both credit and...

Now what's going on with YouTube?

They fixed the issue of not being able to remove stuff, HUH-ray. I've been reading rumors, and I don't know if this is actually true, but it's been recently reported that Google is actually owning up to what a terrible idea it was to force everybody to add a Google+ account to their...

At the risk of turning this into a political discussion, anybidy else notice the coincidence in the timing of all this? This is happening while the Republican candidates are going around the debate circuits, campaigning to be Republican nominee for the 2016 presidential election. And for the...

Comcast has always refused to carry Boomerang because they said it was a commercial-free channel (hmm, that didn't stop them from carrying Noggin) . . . but from what I understand has happened to Boomerang recently, I guess it doesn't even matter anymore at this point.

What's weird about the OPEN SEASON movies is you know who the mastermind is behind those? David Feiss. That's right, the same guy who gave us COW AND CHICKEN and I AM WEASEL is the one responsible for the OPEN SEASON movies, as he's apparently Sony Animation's director now. As for the Minions...

    Questions about anything

According to Sid & Marty Krofft (the producers of THE BRADY BUNCH HOUR), apparently only the main cast was approached, and Eve Plumb was the only one who refused to reprise her role of Jan, hence the whole "Fake Jan" controversy surrounding the show.

And the way everybody is bellyaching over HBO being the new home of SST . . . did it ever occur to anyone that perhaps the actual channel it may end up being aired on is HBO Family?

Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

I'm pretty sure you can get HBO in your cheap/basic cable packages. But you bring up the same point I've been making about outlets like Netflix and such: not everybody has Netflix, and not everybody can get Netflix because not everybody is able to obtain regular internet access, so what's the...

Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

At this point in time, I'm honestly beginning to question just how much longer SST will continue to last. In the grand scheme of things, five years is a decent amount of time for the show to keep going, and it so far seems to be holding itself up against all of the major changes and shake-ups...

That's the way most western animation is: other countries, regions, and territories get the new stuff months, sometimes even years before they're released in North America, ala the new ALVINNN!!! AND THE CHIPMUNKS, which has been bouncing around the world for the past 2-3 years but just now saw...

Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

Not only that, but apparently one of my local news outlets has just reported that apparently PBS is now dropping SST altogether and the show will instead be moving to HBO: http://www.wbir.com/story/life/tv/2015/08/13/sesame-street-moving-hbo/31625021/ That's an odd move, don't you think...

    TV Tropes

TV Tropes is really giving me the runaround regarding my current suspension; they've pretty much acknowledged that there's a problem among the entire site regarding use of first-person adjectives on the subjective pages like Headscratchers, Sugar Wiki pages (Crowning Moment of Funny, Tearjerker...

    The Chipmunks

This show seems to be more or less mostly Janice Karman's creation, and since she was the one who initial developed the Chipettes back in the 80s, I guess she has more creative freedom to do what she wants with them as opposed to being mirrors of the Chipmunks. Eleanor especially seemed to go...
