    Getting To Know You...

I can answer a couple of these without repeating stuff from other posts - I'd be Zoot, because of the sheer Coolness Factor. And he is, after all, my identical first cousin, so this would not be a stretch. Food, seafood but never fried excepting crab cakes. Hobbies: 35 mm photography...

    The 2004 Oscars

The pitfall with Best Song is always that most of them don't stand alone well. Heard with the scene(s) they're entwined with, with the visual, they pack their punch, but remove them from that and they just don't usually hold up all that well. Not all, but most of them. Because in most...

    The 2004 Oscars

Disney was the backer Jackson most thought, and was also led to think, would grasp his vision and greenlight. He quickly found otherwise. They pay zee price now. The eternal frustration with Disney is that - they ARE SO CAPABLE - look at Pirates, which I'm nuts about, and MCC, and MTI...

    The 2004 Oscars

I'm totally content. The Academy members did exactly what they had privately said years ago they would do, which was to recognize the LOTR films as the continuum of story that they were, and to do so fully at the finish of the cycle. Which I find to be the appropriate and correct approach...

    Any George Harrison Fans?

Oh, you've got to be kidding, that's funny, and I couldn't disagree more. Sullivan was an absolute gas, he was a riot, and nobody had an eye for talent that deserved a chance superior to his. NOBODY did more for successful talent than Sullivan and Johnny Carson (Tonight Show). They gave...

    Any George Harrison Fans?

George Harrison and his music timeline followed my own life timeline. When the Beatles first came to the U.S. to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show, and we all went crazy for them, we had just been through the Kennedy assassination and we knew we were in for very rough times ahead. We needed...

Is it allowed to react on old topics?

My usual philosophy is, never too old, lol. Oh, we're discussing threads???? I don't know. It would seem that if something was covered two years ago, that's too old, and a new thread should be started. There are so many new members here that new discussions on old topics would be...

Is it allowed to react on old topics?

I've found that a nice way to approach it is to do just what you've done, to just post and ask first. You could post the question about a topic in some other appropriate established thread, as a P.S. sort of thing, (postscript, afterthought) and people here will either guide you to old threads...

Is T.V. puppetry just for 5 yrs and Under?

Well, I'm opinionated and that's ridiculous. (the notion brought up in the first post.) It may be that some TV suits holed up wherever it is they hole up have decided and declared the above to be true but since when have they been right about anything? If they haven't sold X amount of...
