I don't think they were desperate .. they got a great deal off EMTV, they got a great deal buying them back, and they got a great deal re-selling to Disney. If the Disney deal hadn't come along they were doing ok relaunching them during the nostalgia boom. Its amazing the amount of profit they...
I don't really agree .. i think it would be really confusing. I think the issue is more about Jim Henson (the person) still being seen to have a visible connection with the Muppets, rather than Henson (the company). Henson produce all kinds of stuff nowdays that Jim Henson has had nothing to...
I would guess they were "liquidated", just probably still on the website, or if not they will be as you say. The deal to sell MR didn't seem to include the stock.
Yes i think i remember that too. Thankfully this time around they established "Muppet Studios". It's probably for business reasons to seperate the Muppets from Mickey & Co incase they fell into debt or something but it also does give them their own individual identity. I remember EMTV also...
PopCo was their pop culture subsidiary mainly based in the UK, that dealt with the Harry Potter , Nintendo and other mainstream pop culture items. Master Replicas were supposed to be placed under them because they were being restructured to also just deal in general pop culture items rather...
Exactly, the statue is local - stuff like the logos are worldwide. Two different things entirely. Anyway there are actual archived Muppets inside Henson HQ and in Henson exhibits, i'm glad at least it seems Disney are ok to acknowledge the Muppets heritage.
If they ever try to remove that...
Guys, haven't been around here properly in a long time - can u explain the comics to me? I know there are two issues, a third about to hit. But, whats with all the different covers? I went on ebay to look and there's like 6 different covers for some of these, foil, blank, some with only 500...
I think your mistaken, Popco is part of Corgi. Master Replicas and Popco were two sub-divisions, which were kinda merging. However Corgi ended up putting the Popco part into administration late last year.
A great shame ... i think there should be some kind of historical link back to Jim Henson in some form, but i can see how it would be confusing right in the logos. At least they aren't using "Disneys Muppets" which could almost be like implying that actually created the characters rather than...
There are Muppets in the Henson Fantastic World exhibit, it all really depends on good relationships between Henson and Disney as to what can and can't be done at any time. Nothings impossible, its just now more difficult!
Kermit being the "face" of Henson & Disney & Sesame now though just...
I honestly think some kids CGI Fraggle Rock TV remake would make most hardcore fans around here have nightmares if they saw it. I don't think Henson would make a TV show any other way .. both down to cost and down to what actually "sells" within the industry. Thankfully the Doozer things looks...
I don't get the Mindstyle thing .. buy license, create figures, wait for film. Aren't they in danger of license running out or maybe it has already. It's far from clear when the film will be released.
Only if they had installed in-cage plasma TV, selection of DVD's (swamp years, a bugs life, best of the crazy frog), wifi, mini bar, and put them up in a five star london hotel!
:insatiable:
Thanks Jamie, that makes a lot more sense.
I wonder where this new company has distribution - they must have some kind of plan for it knowing that Master Replicas had problems selling em after Kermit. I think the disney stores at the theme parks would sell through a few hundred at the very...
Ah, sorry. Haven't been on here for a while so only just catching up. Yes, good idea then - though i think they'd probably want to actually start with a Kermit as they'll be looking to attract new customers. I do agree though, considerations oughta be made for people with the existing posers...
I didn't know about the license getting resold - most excellent news. I don't mind so much the idea of a Reporter Kermit, but i do hope they follow up with a Fozzie as soon as possible, and that they keep these as close to the Master Replicas products as they can in overall size, look...
