It is precisely love of the Muppets which makes me want to see them in better productions with good, sharp, witty scripts, and not just settle for anything that comes down the pike with them in it. It's painful to see them in substandard projects.
I know the Oz story well, have read the books, and seen the old Judy Garland version many times. The content is part of the reason I felt that Oz was a poor choice as a project for the Muppets, because you cannot tell the story without those scenes and references, melting, poppies and whatnot...
Hi Beau. (hugs)
Also, ditto to everything beaker said on Page 5 of this thread. Beaker, "the Abu Ghraib of Muppet films", excellent and right on. What a total trainwreck.

This was the worst waste of two hours in the history of mankind, and the saddest introduction of the Muppets to a new generation of small kids they could ever have come up with.
Too much potty/body-part humor, lowest-common-denominator-humor, and current day reference humor, all of which says...
Hunter S. Thompson was one of the finest wordsmiths in American literature. He was a failed journalist and novelist in the '60s when he set out on an 18-month sojourn with the H***'s Angels motorcycle bunch, writing about it all the way. The term "gonzo journalism" came to be associated with...

Okay, now I'm laughing, because I am now being privately harassed by this individual. Being told to stop. Wow. Only on MC. I do participate on other forums, and never have I encountered what I have here, both great and awful. Whomever this is is carrying things much too far, because they've...
Yes. And look back at all the posts, and look at the profiles. I've identified at least four that are undoubtedly this individual. I really hope it isn't who I think it might be, and I hope they just stop - it's a waste of peoples' time and forum space. MC needs to clean up this server...
RIGHT. Surely you have other things to do. One would hope. A fatal flaw with this forum, which does not occur on others, is that people can log in on as many identities as they wish from the same computer without consequence. If one looks at profiles, one will see. It's been done before...
That's right, dangit, and let's not forget it. I was, believe it or not, a Real Girl Scout. For a long time. I was in agonies because my dad was an Explorer Post and Eagle Scout Leader, in the 1960s, and those boys were doing all the Cool Stuff. They were hiking Mt. Katahdin whilst we were...
I am obviously the only one on this site who feels that bobhopesite has been pulling our chains for a long long time but no matter, it's harmless, carry on, and say hello to Dolores for us.
