Oh for sure, it gave off such an easy going, rebel aura. It truly was a network unto itself. Everything was Nick. Now it's got some good shows, but there's less of that "Nick pride."
This old Disney Channel behind the scenes segment discusses the making of the original PotC ride:

Ok well what's great is that as I'm reading this, he's really coming alive for me. Especially trying to picture vacationing in Rome, only to find Richard showing up behind you! I love that he seemed to be able to have fun in life and bring it to other people, and I hope I'm always inspired to do...
I'm so happy to see these again! These behind the scenes shorts they used to have on The Disney Channel in between shows. Not only did they get me interested in the world of media, they gave me an opportunity to see Disney World (when sadly I couldn't otherwise)!
Disney Imagineering: Audio...
I had a bad stomach bug last year and literally couldn't eat ANYTHING without intense pain. It was awful, so I know how you feel, Sara! Hang in there!
Awesome, MN, I'll definitely look forward to your review! ;)
That's fine, obviously you know, we won't change each other's minds tonight, hehe. Though I agree about MFS. But I just want to make it clear, I'm not a fan of political correctness (very much the opposite), nor a purist. And the only reason I keep an eye out for troublesome things is because I...
I don't want to PC them at all. It's that I'm partial to the way things were done in the classic projects. That shouldn't be considered a bad thing. ;)
You're entitled to your opinion. From my point of view, many fans aren't taking certain things seriously enough. And I'm not a fan of...
I've had a good week so far; I went out to dinner with my friends as a sort of congratulations thing and...well let's just say they did a Richard Hunt on me, hehe. Meaning, while I was in the bathroom they paid the bill, lol. I felt a little weird but it was very sweet. :)
I actually didn't mind that Big Bird and Barkley were pretty much alone in these specials. They had great chemistry and to me it was a case of "less is more." Not saying I don't ever want to see the other characters, I just think it worked in these cases. :wisdom:
Yeah he was great in "Secrets of the Muppets!"
Kevin Clash: For the first time I've gotten Leon's tail in the shot!
Leon: Yeah! Now let's get our tails outta here!
I think you're right, even in the 70's, the fat jokes were hit or miss. Plus back then people weren't as aware of things like eating disorders. It's just that the more recent projects have really taken it to a different level that's just cruel and not funny. I don't think they mean to. It's just...
That's where I'm different from others, I'm more about keeping the past in the public eye and not hidden. Not that there's anything wrong with wanting new things. :)
Yup, he was in several Jim Henson Hour episodes, including the episode with Ten Danson and the behind the scenes episode "Secrets of the Muppets" which Jim hosted.
If they were the same old family I wouldn't mind. ;)
It's true that people are more sensitive now. But there's not a big uproar about showing the old Muppet Show to people. The concern is consistently about the newer projects. I'm not the only one who has complained about the current fat...
