I thought the Yogi voice was very off. I thought Timberlakes Boo Boo was perfect, but i dont get the point of hiring a "name" actor when you don't actually get to see them or hear their real voice. It quite literally could be anybody doing that voice for a quarter of the cost lol.

I'm sure eFX doesn't have the Muppet license for all large plush. There are probably definitions and terms in their license to seperate it from the regular plush license. For instance "large plush with armatures with a quantity of less than 1,000" etc or there may even be a "specialist replica"...

Um dude ... if this was five years ago when Beaker wasnt being used much i would kinda half agree with you, although even then he was always a pop culture symbol and these posers are obviously marketed to pop culture lovers. But recently we had "Ode To Joy" ... 10 MILLION hits (probably more)...

but surely simplicity in design would account for the cost of materials - and its just general teddy colour fur too. They must do a lot of R&D and QC on the complicated ones like rizzo. I get the point about having to do the prototype over again tho, they already committed those resources...

You make a fantastic point there Bear Man, and he will attract all the teddy collectors which is obviously a HUGE market.

Actually eFX HAVEN'T said at all they won't go down the easier/cheaper option, its more a case that with Disney they wouldnt be able to cut any corners anyway and if the current plan is for it to be a near exact photo puppet then they have to live upto that or they wouldn't sell any. So of...

It won't be CGI (although i would think there may be some CGI "nods" to Diz characters maybe) - its just the puppetry story process is similar to animation, and there are people at Pixar who have worked with similar kinds of writing, some even puppetry. I can see why they'd like it to be a...

I saw a pilot few minutes of a new Monsters In My Pocket cartoon a few years ago, it was quite good. I have no idea what happened with it.
