So...all eyes toward July then eh?
So if there is no Fox Muppet Show this years, just what the heck *is* there to be excited about besides the figures? Or should we all just call it a year already and come back to active Muppet fandom when JHC gets their act together?
Re: Re: Muppet Classic Theatre: An early Muppets Tonight?
Oh Kermit Unpigged in the commercial and album was just a mess. Listen to 'Drive Me Crazy'...no offense to anyone, but it sounds like a very bad Kermit impersonation on there and much of th ealbum. Luckily Whitmire has got Kermit...
Well, if you want a mind altering "OMG Im, getting visions this is so bad!" experience, I can reccomend...as in 'this milk is so spoiled, but I cant stop drinking' it kind of way.
Btw, I realized there is one thing worse than all these Disney Cheapquels. Those super cheapo generic "Disney"...
crystal clear Debo!
I am astonished how people like that 'manly' smell...Im with you, a nice zestfully clean/or no smell at all is sublime. Then again, girls automatically have a nice smell with their shampoos or whatever^_^
Actually Gonzo is not an alien, as MFS is not canon. He's still and forever will be a blue whats-a-ma-callit.
If you can count MFS as Muppet canon, than the Star Wars 1978 Christmas special and two Ewok films are Star Wars canon:rolleyes:
I am still astonished, aftet first seeing it two decades ago, how massively awe inducing and magical the first Muppet Movie was.
The chemistry, the laughter, the friendship, the feeling.
Will Muppet Movies ever get back to eing even close to the impact of the original trilogy?
The A list...
I recently saw the Muppet Classic Theatre vhs and came to the conclusion that this has got to be almost like a pilot, or at east an early forerunner for Muppets Tonight. The intro to it feels very similair to MT, it even has a lot of the MT specific Muppets like the singing Elvises, Andy/Randy...
I actually have that on tape. It was a brillaint nose thumbing satire at Disney from Saturday Night Live(in 1998), and their penchant for history revisionism through song and dance save the princess two talking sidekicks and an evil emperor cliches.
Titanic; a film thats on my list of movies...
The Disney banned "Um...Song of the South?...um, we never made a film called that" Song of the South is available for tape trade? cool.
Btw, why is the Donald Duck meets Hitler one canned in the archives...its Donald Duck taking on Hitler, not wearing a pushbroom mustache and giving a...
More of a sheer abomination I can not think of. Spongebob, man...
there was a long preview for the dvds before Hey Arnold(AKA The worst animated film EVER) and I was just cringing and twitching. Its like a freaking hammer to the head. Seriously, is the country that brain mushed on Carson Daily...
Oh yeah, that is a pretty cool one. Too bad there was a decade gap in between Vinvent and NBXmas though. Its interesting to see stop motion animation used in live action films, like DavidLynch's Eraserhead(1978) or even Return of the Jedi(1983).
Oh, but the most avant garde, envelope pushing...
Oh yeah! I forgot the Perfect Stranger thing from a couple weeks ago. Still, Family Guy has Simpsons beat hands down for all out Dennis Miller-esque 3am mind candy and obscure pop references. Too bad they took it off the air. *sigh*
Oh yeah, I had forgotten about the other Futurama...
*maybe* Late Late 2003 in NYC...and thats a BIG maybe...as in slim chance of happening. The Valentine takeover and Fox Show Im sure would happen before a Muppetfest I would think.
Very simple, its something I figured out a long time ago.
1) Dreams do not occur in real time. So it is possible to have the most vivid epic dream, yet it could only take a few minutes in real time.
2) There is only a very brief window of memory retention from a dream when you wake up...
The hour block of Simpsons reruns on sunday illustrated how Simpsons can still be edgy and irreverent. I love the Simpsons going to Walt Disney World episode, as well as the other episode they had(where Bart was trying to finish his homework assignment) We got what I think is the first Futurama...
Just curious what some of your favorite stop animation films are of all time. Its a really fascinating medium, one which I hope picks up again. With cgi haven taken over traditional puppetry, animatronics, and stop motion...its kind of sad to see such things gone. To me the stop motion monsters...
Hated? You kidding? Anti Disney buyout sentiments have always been enjoyed and nurtured on here! As we like to say, keep those white gloves off our frog!
Btw, Welcome Aboard MC!
Oh gosh, I cant stand that 'manly' type scent(that playing basketball all day or after shave old spice manly man smell)
Yeah, ok maybe I am a bit of an effette dandy, but I'll take
a barely detectable light cocoanut or hint of pear scented organic shampoo over that manly man smell any...
