Remember how I complained about how there's an episode where they're too short to ride the rollercoaster?
Look at this image of completely creative, not at all derivative, inspiration that's been released.
They freaking tied stuff to their feet to make them taller. Yeah, I've never seen...
Garbage Can R2-D2, actually. But Sesame Street, it's not hard to see Oscar in there. But Trash2 D2 reminds me of the background gag in the Animaniacs SNES game which uses a similar gag. And repeated dashing on it gives you coins.
Now that I think of it, it's weird that Count Von Count wasn't...
Agreed. But the fact that the CGI backdrop looks that good makes the Giant, flat Bert sliding through Sesame Street look lazy and amateurish. They certainly didn't skimp on that background shot, but it's actually so good it's distracting.
The episode worth waiting for. While I'd otherwise say the only complaint is that it was too short, the extended version is going to get me to buy the DVD. 'Nuff said.
Somehow, when I heard the word of the day was flexible, I pictured Elmo standing in line for hours, not being able to get...
Exactly. The complaints about Disney's ownership of the Muppets were exactly the same as the complaints of a Post-Jim Henson company. That cannot be helped, and sometimes properties aren't the same even with the same people involved (look at Ren and Stimpy Adult Cartoon Party and the Star Wars...
They're still using Murray for filler segments. The Murray had a little lamb bits are interesting... this one seemed just fillery. Like they could have done one short segment and have been done. It seemed a bit hamfisted after the third kid. And while I could go on a cynical turn about being...
I don't mind the CGI backdrops for things like Cookie's Crumby Pictures or Super Grover 2.0. Those little fantasy segments of the show that keep to themselves. It just doesn't work for a street story. It made the whole thing look so artificial. Though on the other hand, it makes Sesame look...
I'm a bad judge of family sitcoms. There does seem to be some sort of pandering to the tweenage demographic, but it doesn't dive to the horrible depths of the other shows for them. It doesn't manage to be much worse than anything TGIF had before it disbanded.
Still, it would be great to see...
That's essentially the creepiest thing I've ever seen in commercials next to Axe's Chocolate man. That Stepford Yodellander. I actually feel sorry for the kid. He must get beaten up at school for that commercial.
"Film" as in there is no other wording I can use to describe the weird flickeriness and graininess of the picture quality caused by digital video editing software.
Here's something I just realized. Don't know why. When Ernie was in a clown costume, he had a yellow nose. While clowns...
Figured that.
Forgot to mention that I really liked the one of two ETM's produced this season. Really? Two?
Though, it's not really what you'd expect out of a karate skit. Other than that Grasshopper thing, they really didn't make much of a reference to any famous karate based...
The Yogi Bear movie, sadly, actually made money. They were threatening to make a sequel, and hopefully nothing comes out of it. What we got was a poorly cast, dull movie all about a Ranger Smith and a Mary Sue romantic plot tumor with Yogi and Booboo bouncing around in the background. All the...
It's great to see Segi in a street story. Sure, it was basically her lot in the show to teach self esteem, and I'd like to see her do more on the series besides that. But with this, she's becoming more of a character for the series.
YAY! And Big Bird was there too. Still think the Abby/Elmo...
And say another company wound up getting them. I don't think the results are that favorable for them either. Look at Warner Bros. They don't know what the crap they're doing.
What was particularly annoying, they used a first season rerun for it too. The most over reran of the Abby shorts. And all because they turned into chickens for a second as it sort of fit in with the story.
It's all about saving money, I know. But the half hour version is starting to look...
I see your point, but I still fail to see how things would have been better had any other company bought them or Henson still owned them. For every project Disney didn't finish, there's like... I dunno how many Henson projects. I lost count. How about the long succession of proposed Muppet...
FINALLY!!!
Yes, basic story structure has always been used since storytelling began. That just happens over time and things become similar by accident. Everything has been subverted, parodied, and twisted since the old days, and the only thing left is nonsense. And nonsense is a cliche too...
I'd have to make mine a top 4...
1) Doc Hopper, obviously. He was a dangerous villain that wanted Kermit so bad, he wouldn't mind having him dead. Pretty dark stuff in an otherwise wacky film. Even darker than Mel Brooks as a Nazi scientist.
2) Long John Silver. Mainly for the fact that...
It's too early to say that Steve will never perform Ernie again, and any reason given is speculation and nothing more. Just remember, Frank still manages to pop up from time to time, while recasting his characters freed them up to appear more times than in previous seasons. Without his...
Face palms... Frame rate and editing Software. DUH! I shoulda known.
Yeah. It's weird that it looks that way on television. Anyone with a higher quality television have that problem? Seems that when there's more CGI usage in the show, the flickeriness and grain make the problem worse. It...
