I only know of "Magic to Do," and that's because we had to do it for a school chorus thing many ages and moons ago.
I'm not sure what the chalk up the street story lengths to. Many have been really short. I want to say it's because they had the 30-minute version in mind, but from what I read...
I was following the press kit on the whole Pippin thing. I didn't expect the song to be that stayed away from the original. It almost sounded nothing like "Magic to Do."
That Elmo/Grover bit was wonderful, though. The whole "seflie" gag will certainly date it, but I liked it.
And how neat was...
Ya know. I almost wish they do drop Cookie's Crumby Pictures next season so we don't have to wait so long for one episode just so the parody will be more relevant.
Welp. They finished shooting yesterday. I wonder if they'll be starting new episodes in September as usual; seems like the turn-around would have to be faster than usual, especially if there's CGI needed in some episodes (as there sometimes is).
I think Frank's characters had the best parts of the special. The entire Ernie/Bert subplot was very funny. I'm not sure they appeared in the special the way you claim. Grover seemed usually helpful but clueless. Bert was excited at the prospect of marrying royalty; wouldn't you be? I don't know...
"Count on Elmo" preview:
It looks like it'll be like the Numeric-Con DVD, where the majority of inserts are animation/film and not Muppet. But frankly, they haven't made many widescreen Muppet number segments, so it's slightly understandable. Unless they use full-frame stuff, which gives the...
"Come Together" is in color, as are all the rest. All of the Muppet appearances (save for two) are just a part of a large compilation (that includes the Great Santa Claus Switch); the footage was donated by the Jim Henson Legacy. They're lifted pretty much from the original shows; there's no...
The other "Grown Accustomed" is on the same YT channel. Don't know of anyone who has "Come Together" (though I was watching it at work yesterday; Paley privileges.)
While it's more of a "viral for a few hours" kind of thing in terms of total Sesame history, it is a prime example of Big Bird establishing relevancy in this so-called "Elmo-era."
Thinking about it, they probably spent a little too much time on it, but I don't mind much.
